On Minimum Wage

I never got the whole “Living Wage” crap. Minimum wage is NOT an end point, its the starting point, and if you can’t get off of it, there’s more issues at play than just your cost of living.

Plus there’s all that other stuff, like increased unemployment and business efficiency.

It’s NEVER been a living wage… Nor was it supposed to be…

      Exactly.

Reap what you sow…or get paid what you deserve and file a lawsuit. Or attain a skillset that deserves a higher wage. (you know, like many people do when they GROW UP)

Not to mention that the guy with needed experience that previously could have been hired for $9/hr because that was reasonably well over the current minimum wage now is going to be demanding at least $10.50-$11/hr – because he’s experienced, so why should he be working for minimum wage – making prices go up.

Minimum wage is not, and never has been, about a “living wage”. It’s about destroying capitalism.

Like I heard a small business owner on Fox Business News say, why not raise it to $18/hr. Mr. President and see what happens to the economy.

It’s amazing that those who want to raise it don’t understand the basic economics involved, or that doing so hurts those they want to help the most.
