State of the Gimp

Wow, How can a fall be THAT BAD, and I feel so fine today? I don’t trust it. Still as of right now my knee feels pretty darn good, and my ankle is a little stiff, but nothing serious.

I guess I was a lucky dog!

On time while out riding my three-wheeler (predecessor to today’s quads) I jumped a hill and there was no other side, I was airborne for a long ways…

When I landed, well away from the 3wheeler I was SURE I was dead.

    Nothing hurt.

    Miraculously, I was just fine.

It’s been my experience that the falls which are most sudden and unexpected are the ones that hurt least. No time to try wrenching our body around to stay up, or tensing up before we hit, just *boom* and we’re on the ground.

I did it a few weeks ago at a fire – same thing, black ice in the road near my engine and suddenly I was sitting on the ground looking up at an assistant chief. No bruise, no nothing.
