I do not understand how these people keep believing this 90% lie. If 90% of folks were behind background checks we would have them.
And we’d be able to find guns and ammo at the local shops!
As Nicki said over at The Liberty Zone, that 90% figure is likely from people agreeing with laws that are already on the books – not clamoring for new ones.
That’s my thought. 90% support SOME KIND OF background check, including those we already have. Basically says that 10% support relaxing or eliminating all checks. The people that support expanding checks are a small minority within the 90%.

Erin, and I would add that those “90%” probably support something along the lines of the Colburn Ammendment, not the Schmuer abomination. What? People don’t like going to prison? Go figure.
