Anatomy Of a Mass Shooting, and Gun Control

So you all have heard about the UC Santa Barbara mass murder. Let’s look at the details:

The gunman who killed six people in a furious shooting rampage near the University of California, Santa Barbara began the spree by stabbing to death three people in his home, police said tonight.

So first up we have “Gun Death”, they call this a mass shooting, but HALF of the murder victims were killed with a knife. Not only do only “Gun Deaths” count to the anti-rights activists, but I was actually unaware of this. So the six dead have been all counted as “Gun Death” from what I’ve read about it in the gun and anti-gun blogs

Police said three guns were recovered from REDACTED‘s car. Police said he had more than 400 rounds of ammunition.

“All were legally purchased from federally licensed dealers and all were registered to the suspect,” the sheriff said.

So legally bought guns, but there’s more:

Brown said cops have had three previous contacts with REDACTED before Friday’s shooting, including when a member of REDACTED‘s family asked police to check on him because of alarm over his behavior and videos. Brown said the cops found no reason to take further action on REDACTED.

One of the other incidents occurred in January when he made a citizen’s arrest of his roommate for allegedly stealing three candles, and again in July 2013 when he claimed he had been assaulted. Police determined that REDACTED may have been the aggressor, Brown said.

REDACTED was being treated by multiple therapists and was a student at Santa Barbara City College, said family lawyer Alan Schifman.

So he was a troubled individual and the family was well aware of this, further the “Citizen’s Arrest” story sounds like it could have been prostituted and not only would have possibly left this guy with a background that would bar him from owning guns, but possibly make it easier to get the help he needed.

All of this is speculation as some people are broken, and this story sounds like this guy was one of them, the best medical services in the world might not have helped him, and given that he was an adult, family may not have been able to help him.

Still what is the family’s response?

**UPDATE** I got confused with the names, and it turns out this man is the father of one of the victims. I know nothing about his son, and so I will take him at his word. Still I will note that as below California is the home of the ANTI-Gun lobby, and because of that some of the most restrictive laws are in place there. Further a College campus in California is the perfect storm of gun control. The NRA had no influence on this shooting, and your blame is offensive. I’m sorry for your loss, but your words do your son no justice.

The remainder of the post assumes this man was the killer’s father, sorry for any confusion, but I will leave the rest unedited just because I still stand behind my words. **END UPDATE**

Yep it was the fault of somebody else! Never mind that it was in insanely anti-gun California, and on a college campus “Gun Free Zone”, and of course we have the illegal activity of shooting at people and carrying a loaded weapon without the necessary permits. Never mind that their family had far more contact and influence over this killer than anybody else in the world. Also your kid was NOT a “Great Kid”, Great kids don’t do this. Even mentally ill people don’t do this. He was a monster, you likely know it, and fostered it, and now you want others to deal with the blood that is on YOUR hands.

In the end the event ended with the police (good guys with guns) engaged the killer and him taking his own life. Also for those willing to search it out, the killer made a youtube video talking about his plans. I won’t link it because I will not glorify him. I will note that he seemed deeply delusional, had a plan he wasn’t able to execute, and made statements of victim-hood based entirely on disillusion of grandeur.

Sorry, but the problems leading to this have NOTHING to do with gun control or politics, and everything to with a wealthy “Progressive” family calling an adult man who murdered 6 people and severely injured many others a “Good Kid.

When the princes sin the peasants get flogged.

Note the father’s preaching about how he’s a good gun-control supporting man, and how it was those evil NRA rays that did this.

Guess the people killed with the knife get to be honorary involuntary martyrs on the altar of “gun death”.

FYI, this guy isn’t the father of the killer, but one of the victims.
