One thing the anti-rights fanatics are constantly crowing for is MORE LAWS!
They want bans, they want restrictions, they want arbitrary oversight, they want licenses, they want people they don’t like thrown in prison.
But there is another side to that.
This guy got tossed in jail despite the Firearms Owner Protection act.
It is still law in Massachusetts that all guns must be locked up if they are not under the immediate control of the owner. Now this is 100% illegal thanks to McDonald vs. Chicago, but there it is, still on the books waiting for some poor bastard to fight it with all his might.
Hell I was supposed to hear back from police if my permit was renewed or denied in no less than 30 calender days.
It was much closer to 120 (!!) days before my new permit arrived. Oh well, tough luck for me, and good that I never had to explain to and officer that technically that permit was still valid thanks to the 90 day grace period supplied upon renewal!
So while the anti-right cult calls for more laws, its not like they have the least respect for laws at all.
Whew! The NRA Web clip. I wasn’t there, I don’t know all the facts, I don’t know the law, but is anyone else sniffing a local justice system acting outside its skill set, or, worse, willful police misconduct? (I’ll stand down if I’m out of line.)
