Are Airsofts This Powerful?

I almost skipped this video, and I’m glad I didn’t:

Shooting a new iPad with an Airsoft MP7. I thought for SURE he’d was trolling, but he damn near got full penetration with dents on the back side. So is the glass face that thin, or are airsofts THAT powerful. I know there are gas powered, and spring powered units, but I just assumed those plastic BBs would bounce off or shatter against a hard surface.

The .50 BMG footage was also some of the best I’ve seen.

Airsoft guns hit with a fair amount of power (relatively speaking). The high end ones are assumed to be used for Tactical LARP, against people wearing all kinds of tactical gear, helmets, face masks, etc. If you get shot you’re out, but you need to FEEL being shot, which gets harder as you pile on the mallninja gear. They’re just plastic, but it’s a fairly dense, hard plastic. You can get the 6mm bbs in up to nearly .50 g weights.

Yeah, some of the Airsoft guns do get quite powerful.

I could be wrong, but that looked like a GBB KWA MP7 modded to run either Green Gas or CO2, with one of the suppressors that can add a little extra pressure to the arse end of the BB. With the right upgrades and gas, the video is easily replicable.

Siege is correct regarding the requirement to feel getting shot. There’s usually limits over here to prevent injury (350FPS for auto or 500 single shot with a .2g BB), but you can use any weight you like as long as it chronos within limits with a .2g.

I’ve seen .8 metal BBs before, but nobody was crazy enough to use them.
