“Gun Death” Attempted Suicide

Not a death, but damn close!

Entering the tiger enclosure at the Chengdu Zoo in China’s southwest Sichuan province, a man made vigorous, but unsuccessful, attempts to entice the animals to eat him, a Chinese newspaper reported on Tuesday.

“I asked them to bite me and let them eat my meat, and so I did not fight back,” 27-year old Yang Jinhai told the Chengdu Business Daily.

Thankfully the PRC feeds their tigers better than their people. This easily could have gone the other way.

“and so I did not fight back”

Probably what saved his life. Now, I’m not an expert on carnivorous animals or anything and I’m not pretending to be. However, my understanding is that big cats who are well fed and healthy aren’t usually all that interested in eating humans. Apparently, we don’t taste all that good. At least that’s the theory I’ve heard from a few sources over the years.

If he had really wanted the tigers to kill him, he should have done something to make them see him as a threat. I’m pretty sure that would have done the trick.

Allegedly that’s what nearly killed Roy of the famous magic and tigers team. Tiger got his testicles hit by a stage prop, and he went into kill-mode.

should have attempted to hit the tiger in the balls or the eyes….maybe tried to pull its tongue out, which would have resulted in a severed arm and near instant death.

Note to self: When you have a tiger by the tail, don’t kick him in the balls, it will only make him madder.

I might have to put that on a t-shirt.
