“Gun Death” War on Drugs

An intersection of some of my issues of interest:

An Ohio man who has already pleaded guilty to killing a 16-year-old boy last year testified that he and his co-defendant repeatedly beat the teen when he wouldn’t give up his stash of money and drugs.

So we have a beating death, so not a “Gun Death”, but we also have issues with the War on Drugs. During the Prohibition of Alcohol we had cases similar to this. Booze was worth a lot, so Bootleggers had a valuable commodity, and generally lots of cash from moving it. This made them a target for other criminals.

Still now that alcohol is legal, how often do you see cases like this over booze? Yeah we have issues like alcoholism, drunken crimes, and drunk driving, but do we see stuff like this?
