Images of the Antis: Racism

Found this interesting Image from a particularly despicable Anti-rights fanatic:

Now first up, I’ll note that even in the more extreme views this is NOT open-carry, but brandishing firearms. One of my big issues with the long-gun open carry flap is so many of the people posing for photos have their slung rifles in a firing grip which is NOT analogous to somebody walking around with a Glock in a holster. There have been many images of people with their rifles slung across their backs, which is perfectly fine IMHO…if we’re talking about carrying a rifle for day-to-day tasks/activism. I still prefer just carrying a pistol or two because if I was expecting to need a rifle, I’d just stay home, and I don’t want to lug around all that extra gear.

Still since I like two-point slings, I really dig on African Carry for rifles:

It also has the added benefit of your hand that controls the rifle being on the forearm or magazine well rather than on the pistol grip, and unlike slung across the back you still have a hand on the rifle controlling it.

Next minor issue, why would these gentlemen be concerned about open carry? You can carry a Desert Eagle or a folded carbine concealed dressed like that!

Still the major point whoever created that image (I have no idea who created the original photograph that the text was added, nor the context of it) is that somehow people who support the 2nd Amendment are RACISTS who would HATE to see armed blacks.

Still if these gentlemen are not prohibited people, and they go out without their hands on the grips of their guns, and they indeed conduct themselves as gentlemen, who cares what color their skin is, or how they dress?

Of course the bottom line is THIS anti who’s putting up this image IS a racist…but like most mentally ill people, just assumes EVERYBODY feels the same way he does.

Remember, “urban”, “urban issues”, and “urban areas need different laws and policing” are dog whistles for racist law and policy…

    unless you’re talking about guns!

I guess the logic for the antis is “Banning guns for specific groups is bad! You have to ban groups for everyone.”

Then again they happily support May Issue policies that ensure only a certain… country clubbable portion of the population can bear arms so…

” . . . [C]ertain country clubbable portion of the population can bear arms . . .” I’m no expert at gun debate, but my political sniffer tells me there is or will be an “elite exception” to even the most abusive anti-gun laws. I’ll speculate on what one noxious “elite exception” might be. For example, an anti-gun law could be proposed that provides otherwise perfect confiscation of firearms with the exception of relatives of murder victims who have no felony or major misdemeanor convictions (i. e., the victims have no record). Santa Barbara’s Mr. Martinez would be able to buy the firearms he purportedly condemns; Mom and Dad in the ‘hood would be denied because of their dead son’s minor drug possession bust; perfect confiscation would flop, except, maybe, among the dutifully law-abiding.

There are occasional public protests led by civic leaders, many of them black, against violence in the city where I work. As far as I know, no one among those leaders calls for the confiscation of guns, and I’ve yet to hear of any demands that someone who’s lawfully exercised his right to self-defense with a firearm be prosecuted. (There was one public statement by a well-funded local group against a “stand your ground” proposal pending in Ohio’s General Assembly, but that group’s statement didn’t catch fire with anyone.)

Try getting a carry permit in NYC, Boston, or LA.

It’s kind of funny but when the police are empowered to deny permits to all those without “good cause”, it turns out that “good cause” nicely correlates with income and political connections.

You nailed it, bro’! I’ve been credibly threatened maybe four times in my adult life, about a forty year span. One threat came from a crooked cop. Unforgettable.

(I can only speculate. I’d published stuff local heavyweights didn’t like. They found a tool to muscle me. He didn’t actually tell me not to publish. I guess I was supposed to connect the dots on my own, after getting a mild rough-up. I didn’t back down, but I was darned scared for months after. That was about a decade ago, and I thought then about buying a weapon, too.)

Harry Markopolos, the finance guy who tried to alert the corrupt, comatose SEC to the Madoff scandal, is a good example of a white-bread ‘burbs guy who bought a weapon to protect himself (at least in part) against the authorities.

Reverse image search shows them to be The Diplomats, a rap group from Harlem.

Considering that AK on the left is a 5.56 SBR, the other guns look very rental gun to me and the background above them has been edited out, I think they are posing at a gun range.

Also good on them for keeping their fingers off the triggers, though, a couple of the barrels could be pointed in safer directions.

Thanks D2k for the search. Last night I drafted a comment saying the image could be ad agency pro work. Agency creatives working up ideas. (I’m a semi-retired ad guy and tech writer.)

It may be photoshopped, but you can see the ‘real’ stuff everyday on facecrack and utube… sigh

Heh….from some of the pics I’ve seen, these guys handle their guns more safely than OCT.
