Images of the Antis: Stupid

Sorry antis you can’t have it both ways!

You can’t be completely ignorant of guns, gun laws, and physics in general AND be advocates on how easy it is to side-step such-and-such a law.

Of course this what the antis WANT for a following. First up owning guns is a black mark on you, it’s maybe forgivable if you only hunt, and not every year. Second shooting or knowing anything about guns is a mortal sin to the antis. Third the talking points state that semi-auto firearms are “Easily Converted” to full auto, so why would they NOT believe that.

If they had an educated following who understood how guns worked, and were abreast in the current gun laws, they would be pro-gun.

I should know!

My FA BCG sucks. No matter how hard I look at it, no matter how many ways I operate, I just can’t get that thing to ‘machine gun’. I should send it back as defective.

makes me want to get a twitter account so I can call her ignorant and stupid. Problem is to get the clarity I want I would need more than 140 characters, and she would just block me after the first post anyway. They need their ignorance to survive.

That was a real good laugh I needed. Too damn funny.

    Ignorance is Strength!

Seriously… this shows that Orwell’s line was more than just a pithy statement. And it’s not just ignorance of statistics or mechanics but it’s ignorance of the legal status quo. If this was a full auto conversion then the ATF could be notified and even in their incompetent state they’d take an interest in *that*.

But most Antis don’t seem to actually *care* about that. It’s like when someone did an “expose” on Cracked on how you could order guns no questions asked… across state lines… when the purchaser was a resident of New York. When it was pointed out that, if true, not only did the purchaser commit several felonies, but he had found a bunch of dealers that the ATF would be most interested in the Antis there gave a collective shrug. Because they literally cared more for supporting a gun felon who said the right things, than someone going “Geeze, call the cops you doof.”.

Gun Control does *best* when people are ignorant of guns, because so many of their claims can be disproven by an ounce of firsthand experience.

Hence, one of the reasons, why a major goal is to get people from owning that *first* gun. And halting the expansion of gun culture and gun knowledge.

Even if they don’t understand a damn thing about guns, they should still be able to read… or use Google to find out what this thing does. From the BCM webpage (probably the same one they used to grab the image and the price):

Written by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE), Chief of the Firearms Technology Branch

…M16 bolt carriers are not designed and intended solely and exclusively for use in converting a weapon into a machinegun and are not any combination of parts from which a machinegun can be assembled. Further, an M16 bolt carrier is not a firearm as defined in the GCA or a machinegun as defined in the NFA. An M16 bolt carrier is simply a machinegun part and as such its domestic sale and possession is unregulated under the Federal firearms laws. It is not unlawful to utilize a M16 machinegun bolt carrier in a semiautomatic AR15 type rifle.

That would require reading gun laws which it seems is somehow a taboo for anti-gun people. Hell it wouldn’t surprise me if she thought owning a pre-86 NFA Machine Gun was a criminal act in itself.
