Yeah, how we used to listen to music SUCKED!
BTW even tho I grew up with a record player in my bedroom, several years ago when my Father-in-law left Maine for Florida he gave us all his LPs. I found one I really wanted to hear and dropped it on our turntable and started the record, and started doing chores…for just a little bit before that vinyl needed to be flipped. Yeah, records suck!
Also for Magnetic tape nostalgia, I actually owned a VHS rewinder because rewinding VHS Tapes SUCKED. Yeah, DVD and Blu-Ray rule…yet my wife streams movies we have in DVDs because its easier…
I still buy used dvds, though.
I still buy them new also if the price is right or I REALLY like the movie. Netflix and Amazon aren’t flawless, so its nice to be able to watch the movie when you want to, technical difficulties be damned.
Also I like all the extra features on the disks you can’t get online like commentary tracks and deleted scenes.
And that was a HELLUVA step up from a transistor radio… sigh… Now you can stream Sirius direct to your smart phone…
Heck using tune-in you can stream radio when wherever in the world you WANT to be listening to radio, independent of where you are. Just for giggles the wife tuned into a radio station in India. You read right, not INDIANA but INDIA.
Heck with spotify you can make a playlist of songs you don’t even own!
I thought I was so smart when I bought my VHS rewinder, because The Evil One (my ex-fiancee) and I watched so many tapes.
What’s with the headphones reaction? Lots of ipods (mini/nano) are headphone only devices, and over the ear headphones are not a bizzzare sight now anyway.
MP3’s don’t wear out and sound like crap if you play them too many times.
