Petty New York Politics

Man, even the “Progressives” in NYC are probably missing “Conservative” Mike Bloomberg!

Mayor de Blasio bungled the second winter storm of his administration when the snow hit a few hours earlier than expected Tuesday — causing a rash of car crashes and snarling traffic across the city.

Some are saying some of this was intentional!

Residents called it a revenge-inspired reversal of de Blasio’s oft-repeated “Tale of Two Cities” slam against then-Mayor Mike Bloomberg, who owns a town house on East 79th Street.

“The Upper East Side did not vote for [de Blasio],” said lifelong resident Molly Jong Fast, daughter of famed novelist Erica Jong.

Man, so even “Progressives” who happen to not be of the rent-control hand-to-mouth types might want to take Governor Cuomo’s invitation:

You’re seeing that play out in New York. … The Republican Party candidates are running against the SAFE Act — it was voted for by moderate Republicans who run the Senate! Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves. Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.

If they’re moderate Republicans like in the Senate right now, who control the Senate — moderate Republicans have a place in their state. George Pataki was governor of this state as a moderate Republican; but not what you’re hearing from them on the far right.”

Now that’s a direct and accurate quote, I’ve heard the audio. Cuomo is saying he was “distorted” by the Post.

The New York Post distorted Governor Cuomo’s words yesterday, saying that the Governor said “conservatives should leave New York.” The Governor did not say that, nor does he believe that.

So what did he mean then? Yeah…

So here’s how I see it. If you’re a Conservative in New York, leave to a Red state, there are lots of them, and you’ll find that even with a substantial pay cut your cost of living quality of life, and real estate will make up for the difference.

If you are a “Progressive” in New York, but you actually have EVIL MONEY in the bank, there are lots of blue states you can move to. You can help offset the welfare state in Massachusetts!

Just get out, they don’t want you!

In my mind, I had a response to this post that would dwarf a grad candidates’ thesis.

Then, in a rare moment of clarity, I remembered one thing: you get what you vote for…

My sympathy is with myself, and other decent people nationwide that cause no harm, go to work everyday to provide for their families, and bring up their young with moral values.

Maybe if the NY’ers that are angry that this idiot, along with de Blasio, is holding public office had gotten off their collective butts and showed up on election day, results would be different. For F***sakes, Bloomberg became a local/national prince!

They let him get elected, not me…no sympathy…

But hey, Cheetos, super bowl, big apples, and cheap beer all around on me.
