My love for single shots is mostly to the Falling Block action, still I really admire the stone-axe simplicity of the rolling block:

I have read of more than one occasion where an old Rolling Block from the late 1800’s was rebarrelled in some new, modern, high-pressure round. The old barrels couldn’t take it, but the actions could.
If it wasn’t for Massachusett’s stupid handgun laws I’d have a Rolling Block pistol built in 7.62x54R.
Why? Because AWESOME!
