“Gun Death” College Drinking

Many of us who have been to college have experienced this, but maybe not to this extent:

A 20-year-old Minnesota college student has died from hypothermia after she collapsed on the way home to her dorm after a night out drinking.

I remember walking about 4 miles across town in 40 below weather wearing no jacket but a few bottles of booze. Thankfully I survived, but if I had decided to take a little nap in that weather I would have died too. Thankfully I didn’t.

So let’s ban guns!!!

That article calls her a freshman three times and a junior once. Irrelevant, but don’t they have editors?

There oughta be a law against drinking underage …

Let’s ban cold weather. Surely we can pass legislation to insure everyone a climate that ‘feels safe’ for them.

Something similar almost happened to me. Luckily, I woke up, realized the danger in spite of a foggy head (thank you Marine Corps training) and found an external heat source to wrap myself around.

It’s a big part of the reason that I now live in Florida. I moved down here a couple days after. Nearly 20 years later and I still joke that I’m still thawing out.
