“Gun Death” Cricket

I know very little about the sport of Cricket, but I guess you can die from it:

Test batsman Phillip Hughes died in a Sydney hospital on Thursday, two days after being struck on the head by a cricket ball during a domestic first-class match. He was 25.

“It is my sad duty to inform you that a short time ago Phillip Hughes passed away,” Australian team doctor Peter Brukner said. “He never regained consciousness following his injury on Tuesday.”

So if you’re going to play an odd foreign sport, make it Curling! Or maybe any of the shooting sports, because while they DO use guns, nobody DIES from those!

Once upon a time at a neighborhood festival, I participated in a short cricket game (match?). I was surprised at how much fun it was.
Little did I know how close I came to death. I’ll stick to shooting from now on.
