An overnight murder in Weymouth and the subsequent fatal shooting of an armed man by police is under investigation by cops and Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey’s office, according to authorities.
…“While the investigation is in its beginning stages, initial information is that when officers arrived they found a white male in an agitated state, apparently armed with one or more knives,” Norfolk DA spokesman David Traub said in a statement. “As the confrontation outside the residence unfolded, both officers apparently made the simultaneous decision that the use of force was necessary and both discharged their weapons. The male was struck and incapacitated.”
He was transported the male to South Shore Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The body of a white woman was found on the steps leading to the home.
“While the cause and manner of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, there was evidence of stabbing injury,” Traub said.
Man stabbed a woman to death, then started to go after responding officers. Not all the details are known about this case yet, but the “Gun Death” in this story can be argued SAVED lives, while the non “Gun Death” was likely a murder.
