Wall of Lies

Fucking shameful

Hannity has Dan Gross on the show (who I guess he’s friends with) and gives him a softball interview as Gross Lies his ass off.

Gross mentions he supports training…but omits that it is MANDATORY training, and will refuse to specify what training he or his organization considers “adequate”

Gross mentions he supports Hannity’s safe storage of guns…except Hannity admits he keeps guns for home defense, so likely Gross DOES NOT support a gun locked up in the same location as Ammo, or in the case of Sean’s bedside safe, a fully loaded gun in a locked safe.

Gross claims he wants a safer country, but he only really cares about “Gun Death”, and his organization is taking a VERY active role to hide the current violent crime rates in this country. If you want a safer country, and the country gets safer, shouldn’t you be happy? I’m very happy about that. Dan is NOT happy because he doesn’t want a safer country, he wants to ban guns.

Gross states that “nobody in my organization wants to prevent a law abiding citizen from buying a gun” except that the Brady Campaign is in favor of locality like DC, Chicago, that ban possession of firearms, or heavily limit what firearms may be owned, and they loved the original New York SAFE act that intentionally restricted firearms New Yorkers could legally own to a select few, and has been successfully challenged in court. They also support adding the so-called “Terror Watch List” to the NICS system AND make it a crime to not buy a gun through an FFL. I think we ALL know the “Terror Watch List” is FILLED with law abiding citizens, and is nearly impossible to audit.

Hannity totally softballs the “We already HAVE the laws you’re requesting” response of “Well not everywhere”. YES EVERYWHERE YOU TWIT!, and SHAME on Hannity for not doing the most BASIC research of having a laymans understanding of the NFA, the GCA, the AWB, the Brady Bill, and the FOPA. Seriously all you needed to do is read and understand those wikipedia pages. You don’t even need to get into the weeds to spar with these people. So yeah, Dan, the Gun Control act of 1968 was federal law, and it made it a crime for a felon, domestic abuser, drug addict, or mentally committed person from EVERY OWNING or handling a gun. Can a felon still buy a gun in his the apartment of a drug dealer? Yep! Does that happen in Massachusetts, Illinois, California, Washington, Oregon, or any other state I’m missing where it is 100% illegal to sell a firearm without some form of government background check and record keeping. Sure does!

Hell Hannity HAD to have covered the recent stories from Washington and Oregon about how Police have admitted that the new universal background check law is unenforceable, and there have been no arrests or convictions for violating this law, even in some very open and politically motivated demonstrations. He should know that Gross has openly supported those laws, even tho they do NOTHING.

Gross Claims to know the names of victims of Chicago Gangland murders, and videos of the family members talking about what little angles their violet thug bastards were are on the Brady website….yet Gross doesn’t name one. Funny that. It’s a gotcha, but I think it’s a solid one.

Gross Claims that Chuck’s Gun Shop is violating the law. That’s Slander, and I hope the proprietors sue the Brady Campaign so maybe they can zap this stupid group dead…lord knows because of events like this, and like this, they can’t be far from dead.

The last bit about home defense was OK, Hannity didn’t really go for his friend’s jugular, but he did leave him in a position where he would look VERY stupid to any fair-weather gun owner, or non-gun-owner who has handled guns.

Still it was a pretty weak interview, and why I don’t ever patronize Mr. Hannity on any of his TV, Print or Radio endeavors.

I stopped listening to Hannity years ago, not because of any particular one issue, but because he’s far more squishy and “establishment-friendly” than I like. Plus, he skips over and misses key holes in opponents’ arguments, and manages to make the arguments he does catch sound weak. He’s not a good debater, he’s not a good extemporaneous speaker, and his BS filter is slow to react.

Oh, and I -hate- his “let’s you and him fight” segments, where he brings on an ostensible conservative and a liberal, and has them scream at each other.

I still consider Limbaugh to be the best in the game, and after him, Levin. My only quibble with Levin is when he has callers; I’ll listen to his monologues, but turn him off when he has a caller. I have nothing to learn from his interactions with them, regardless of whether they’re agreeing or disagreeing; yes-saying teaches nothing, and neither does belittling an idiot.

    Ignorance is Strength.

This isn’t pithy, this shows how the antis drive strength from the ignornace (willful or no) of the people they’re trying to convince.

Meh. Hannity is to liberty as Jesse Jackson is to racial amity: the mere thought of it seems to scare him to death. I hear him often when I’m out in the Jeep doing chores, because talk radio and country music are the only channels I can pick up in the boonies.

Couple of years ago when it looked like Obama might stumble into war with Syria, Hannity was all against that and I noted at the time that it was the only war I’d heard of in the past few decades that Hannity didn’t love. He’s a chickenhawk of the finest feather.

And what Kermit said about those ‘interview’ segments of his: I have to switch channels and listen to country music for a while, because they’re unendurable. Why would any left-winger even agree to be booked on his show? It’s a farce.
