Yep- Krav Maga is a no bullshit self- defense system. No flowery kata moves, etc etc- by the end of the first lesson you know how to hurt people if required. And there weapons retention/take away moves are breath taking.
Yeah, I don’t know a ton about non-firearms martial arts, but from what I’ve read about Krav Maga, it appears to have a very similar philosophy as Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kun Do, in that you are not trying to be beautiful, you’re not trying to score points, you are not trying to be honorable or fair, you are there to end the conflict as soon as possible and resolve the danger.
I also really dug all the work with rifles and pistols, super smart as anybody who is concerned about winning a fight wants to use as many force multipliers as they can.
