Guess who’s on which side.
First the New York Times:
The suspect in the killing of 12 people at the Washington Navy Yard on Monday test-fired an AR-15 assault rifle at a Virginia gun store last week but was stopped from buying one because state law there prohibits the sale of such weapons to out-of-state buyers, according to two senior law enforcement officials.
Instead, the suspect, Aaron Alexis of Texas, bought a law-enforcement-style shotgun — an 870 Remington pump-action — and used it on Monday as he rampaged through the navy yard, said the officials, who requested anonymity because the investigation was continuing.
Translation: “Ok he didn’t have an AR-15…but he WANTED TO REALLY BADLY! SO WE STILL NEED TO BAN THEM!!11!!11”
Now Emily Miller:
Aaron Alexis passed Federal Bureau Investigation and Virginia state background checks to purchase a shotgun from Sharpshooters Small Arms Range in Lorton, Va., over the weekend.
Alexis did not attempt to purchase a rifle or handgun from the store, The Washington Times has learned exclusively.
Translation: The “Reporters” at the Old Grey Lady are a bunch of fucking liars!
Also bonus points:
The source characterized the amount of ammunition purchased as “not much.”
Yeah, there’s a lot of talk about how much ammo the Aurora shooter had bought…but it wasn’t like he was carrying all of it. Same here, shotgun ammo is HEAVY, so he couldn’t have been carrying much on his person.
So more media agenda-driven lies. Good job guys!

I just love how the “journalists” call the 870 a “law enforcement style” shotgun while it is functionally no different than hundreds of thousands of guns used for upland bird hunting or for breaking clays. F*cking alarmists.
You also mention Emily Miller — my local library had her new book so I picked up the copy. It’s an easy read, approachable for someone who might be on the fence about firearms ownership.
– Brad
Well, Likely he used a Riot gun or Home Defense configuration model, rather than a long bird and deer gun.
Still no matter what model he used, it will be essentially identical to all other 870s.
Like I said, they’re having a real hard time trying to come up w/ some meme to grab onto w/ this. They’re flailing around trying to grab anything.
“The suspect in the killing of 12 people at the Washington Navy Yard on Monday test-fired an AR-15 assault rifle at a Virginia gun store last week but was stopped from buying one because state law there prohibits the sale of such weapons to out-of-state buyers.”
So essentially, this prick was a Mark Kelly wannabee, albeit with a lower pay grade and higher melanin levels.
Except Mark Kelly indeed attempted to illegally buy an AR-15….this guy didn’t, that’s all BS.
