Heard in the Weer’d House

Had this song on the radio while I cleaned dishes and Mrs. Weer’d looked after Little Miss:

Me: How Kickass is this song?

Mrs. Weer’d to the Baby: Don’t listen to him…Dubstep is crap!

It doesn’t just happen to Tam! We get no respect, I tell ya!

Mrs. Weer’d is a wise woman.

While I personally have generally moved on from dubstep (though I still enjoy some good DnB), I think it’s funny how people’s perceptions of “kids these days listen to crap” differ. Consider this–though I graduated HS in 2006, all through school I listened to Yes almost exclusively, and my parents complained about it just like if I was listening to 90’s pop.

Hey, I’ve heard GREAT things about “YES”, but the only song I’ve heard is “Owner of a Lonely Heart”, which I hear is their atypical hit.

Spotify has a TON of albums of theirs. What’s a good jumping off point?

You’ve heard “I’ve Seen All Good People”, too, you just don’t consciously realize it. 😉

Well, late getting back to this one, but my favorite “classic” Yes album is Close to the Edge. Lots of good over the top prog on that one. As for the newer stuff, definitely The Ladder. Yeah, there’s a couple goofy new agey songs, but the title track is just as epic as it gets.
