More Pizza Delivery Men

Wasn’t long ago we were talking about the Boston Stabbing Death of a Pizza Delivery man, its not an uncommon crime

A Lafayette grand jury indicted Aaron Orlando Richards, 34, on Wednesday in connection with the March 29 stabbing death of pizza delivery driver Timothy Falgout.

Its a very dangerous job where a stranger can call you to any address and knows you’ll bring a car and cash. Anti-Rights advocates might claim you need a gun to commit a murder, I think we know what a terrible metric “gun Death” is.

And in addition to the caller knowing that you will have both money and vehicle, thanks to the stupid little light-up sign you have to mount on that vehicle, everyone else can see you as the target you might be as well. Factor in that they probably fall into somewhat routine patterns for getting from point A to point B, and laying in an ambush or trap for them to drive into would not be difficult at all.

But, hey, obviously pizza-delivery-guys’ lives are meaningless, otherwise the anti-rights nuts would not be stridently opposed to their being able to lawfully defend themselves, right?

Two against one (if I read the story right) and the pizza delivery guy is supposed to fight them both off — because isn’t that what real men do according the antis?

Sorry but I’m confused how a guy working as a delivery guy is going to afford years of martial arts classes in order to do that.

The other aspect I took away

Richards had previously been arrested in April 2009 for first-degree robbery

Maybe, just maybe, if Richard had been in prison instead of running the streets, he might not have been in a position to commit robbery and murder.

Its a sucky job, ranking right up with the one that I have. The fact is in today’s world, any job can become extremely dangerous. About a month ago, a guard was found shot, on a job site not far from where I am currently posted. He passed about two weeks later.

In response we were all called into a meeting at our main officer, and reminded that we are not permitted to carry weapons of any kind. Thats right, not even pepper spray. After the meeting, we supervisors remained for a second meeting, at that time we were told that any security officer who has a weapon with them on the job, is to be sent home, and they will be terminated immediately.

I guess we are supposed to walk around in the middle of nowhere, at night, knowing one guard is dead, from a botched robbery or some such. We have not been given any further information aside from he was shot, he is dead, where he was posted, and that he was not a part of our company, news of this incident has been extremely low key. Since this incident half of our guards on that mountain are new, because half of our work force quit during or directly after the meeting. The other half are directly violating policy including supervisors.
