Compare and Contrast

Thirdpower has a great comparison to when Gun Owners protest vs. when Leftists do.

See also the tea-party. Say what you will about the politics of any of them, but one side leaves their mark by peaceful organization, and leaving the protest grounds cleaner than when they arrived. The other can be located from miles away from the rising cloud of oily smoke and from the sounds of sirens.

This is why “Progressive” will ALWAYS be written in quotes in this blog. Sorry but burning cars, broken windows, riot suits, and trauma teams aren’t “Progress” in my book.

Been thinking along the same lines when I read Baldr’s boasting of 80 people showing up for their recent march.

The created nothing, they changed nothing, they made not one person better in any way that I can see by that march.

Last month, about 80 club members, volunteered their time and a considerable amount of money to let 160 kids experience shooting; many for the first time.

Last month about 80 or more volunteers at the club worked several hours (some up to 8 or more) on a single day to improve, maintain and build things at the Club. A place where people can learn or improve a skill; be it hunting or self defense.

Antis build nothing, Antis create nothing but restrictions, Antis seldom teach skills that make a person better. Antis just want to restrict and restrain people and the choices they can make. They destroy not build up.

Yeah I haven’t decided if I want to do a post on it, but I found on one of the anti-rights twitter post an article on a local “activist” group against youth violence.

I haven’t posted on it yet, and probably won’t because it seems that all they’re doing is “Raising Awareness of Inner City Violence”. It appears they’ve had a few marches, been given a few billboards, and had a few meet-and-greets with various local pols.

But that’s really it. They aren’t even openly anti-gun, or pro…..anything. They have no proposed laws, bills, policies, or goals. Just “Raising Awareness” and “Reducing Violence”.

I probably won’t touch it, because many of them are inner-city residents who have lost loved ones to gang violence, or religious leaders of inner-city churches. I don’t want to belittle their loss….but REALLY? EVERYBODY is aware of inner-city violence. Nobody likes it. What are you going to do with it besides pose for photographs?

As far as I can tell, nothing, which is sad.

Hmmm… “raising awareness”. Is that anything like “community organizing”?
