Don’t Get It

I’m kinda a due-diligence gunnie. Most of the guns I own I’ve wanted for YEARS, or at least MONTHS of intense obsessing. One example is my CZ-52, a gun I rarely shoot, but because of the cartridge it shoots and it’s interesting history and mechanical action, as much as I don’t like this gun, I really do like it, and I won’t be selling it. A better example of a gun I knew I’d love is the Beretta 21A. I handled my friend’s in .25 ACP, and I was impressed, but I prefer a gun in .22 LR over .25, and doing a bunch of obsessive reading, a few months later when one showed up in my local shop I bought it, and it is one of my favorite guns.

With holsters I’m the same way. When I was waiting for years before I could get my carry permit I had plenty of time to think about how to hide a gun, and what worked best for me. I settled on pocket carry and shoulder carry, and SURPRISE I was right. The holsters that make up my Box of Holsters (TM) are the ones I’ve acquired for no cost over the years.

There is ONE gun I regret buying over the years, and it was my WASR-10, great gun, and the new owner is 100% happy with it, but it just wasn’t for me. I sold it and used the money to help buy an FAL which is the gun I should have bought in the first place.

This is all a round-about way of wondering why one would SELL a gun, then buy the same, or similar gun again. I’ll never buy another AK again. There are better examples of the Kalashnikov design, but in the end it just isn’t for me.

Have any of you done this? Maybe I just don’t have that impulsive gene. I mean I shot my first 1911 in 1999, and I’ve been obsessed with them every since, and still to this day a 1911 in .45 ACP is my favorite gun to shoot.

Same with the FAL, been in love with them for years, and while the SCAR 17 is a really cool gun, the FAL is still a favorite.

What say y’all

“Gun Death” Tree Trimming

Trees are dangerous!

The Washburn University community is mourning the sudden death of baseball coach Steven Anson following a tree-trimming accident.

Mr Anson, 60, died on Sunday at his home, according to the university and Jefferson County authorities. Emergency responders were called to the home in Grantville, Kansas about 3pm on Sunday where Mr Anson was pronounced dead at the scene.

A family member had become concerned with not hearing the chainsaw running and went to check on him. It is reported that Mr Anson was found unconscious on the ground with a large tree branch on top of him.

Captain Carreno of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office told MailOnline today that it appeared that Mr Anson’s death was caused by the tree and not the chainsaw.

Even when you’re careful with the saw, the tree is still dangerous! Still not a “Gun Death” so move along!

Not a “Gun Death” just Stupid

This dude was obviously off his rocker:

A man attempting to light a cigarette while covered in gasoline in downtown Austin was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with attempted arson.

It was about 10 a.m. when Austin police were sent to the 700 block of Neches Street on a report that witnesses had seen a man pouring gasoline on vehicles and attempting to set them on fire, police said.

Police arrived and got a description of the man. He was found near Waller Creek at the 600 block of Sabine Street covered in gasoline and attempting to smoke a cigarette, police said.

Images of the Antis: A Correction and Expansion

So go re-read this post on Comparing Holly Fisher with the Islamic Woman.

Now in the article I was citing it stated that the woman in the photo was the “White Widow” Samantha Lewthwaite. When giving the rebuttal you saw in that post to an anti-rights fanatic, she noted that the woman was NOT Lewthwaite, but Reem Riyashi, a Palestinian militant who is known for blowing herself up in a checkpoint between the Palestinian controlled Gaza Strip, and killing four Israelis, and injuring several Palestinians who likely had no part in this attack.

Doing a Google search of her name you get a LOT more positive results that indeed THIS monster is the monster in question.

Now again, I have no issue with any person of any race, creed, sexual orientation or religion owning guns. I do have issues with violent criminals owning them.

The sad state is no matter how you slice this image the woman on the left is a peaceful law-abiding citizen, and the woman on the right is a violent extremist who HAS committed violent acts against innocent people.

It is sad that while In America you can become an internet sensation by simply stating unwavering beliefs and posting poignant images. Being good looking doesn’t hurt either. While in the Muslim Theocracies the best way to be famous is to kill innocent people.

That’s a big difference to me, but if you hate Freedom in the United States, it isn’t unreasonable to declare that somebody who openly disagrees with you is simply one step away from this level of horrible criminal violence. Does that sound like “Common Sense” to you?

“Gun Death” Cliff Fall

A simple hiking accident, but not a “Gun Death”:

A graduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who went missing more than a week ago in northern India has been found dead in a ravine after she reportedly slipped while jogging and fell several hundred feet off a cliff, MIT officials said Sunday.

The obvious solution is to ban INDIA!!! India Death is the #1 cause of Death in India, and 17% of the deaths worldwide!!!

IF IT SAVES JUST ONE LIFE!!11!!

So Much For State’s Rights

Remember back in the Heller v DC days? The anti-gun groups were all about State’s Rights to violate the US Constitution, and deemed supporters of Rule of Law “Anti-Freedom”. Also fire is cold, and water is dry!

Well the has-beens are at it again!

A gun violence prevention group sued Kansas Governor Sam Brownback and the state’s attorney general on Wednesday, challenging a one-year-old state law on the grounds that it violates the U.S. Constitution by nullifying federal laws aimed at reducing firearms violence.

“Neither the Kansas legislature, nor any state legislature, is empowered to declare federal law ‘invalid,’ or to criminalize the enforcement of federal law,” the lawsuit said.

…Brownback, who signed the law in April 2013, vowed to defend the measure, called the “Second Amendment Protection Act.”

“The right to keep and bear arms is a right that Kansans hold dear,” Brownback, a Republican, said in a statement. “It is a right enshrined not only in the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, but also protected by the Kansas Bill of Rights.”

The law says that firearms made in Kansas are not subject to any federal law or regulation, including a gun or ammunition registration program. It also provides a nullification clause, deeming “void and unenforceable” any laws or regulations that the state deems to be a violation of the Second Amendment.

According to the complaint, the Kansas law violates provisions that give final power to interpret the U.S. Constitution to federal courts, not state legislatures. The Brady group also said the law is contrary to a 1958 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that found any state law claiming to nullify federal law as unconstitutional.

Well except that Kansas is simply saying that the laws that violate Federal law (you know, all the Laws that the Brady Campaign supports) will be null and void in Kansas. Meaning the People in Kansas won’t have to wait for the SCOTUS or the Legislature to overturn Unconstitutional law.

Also I’m glad to see that the Brady Campaign is working hard to get rid of whatever capital they may have less in lawsuits that show how much they hate the US Constitution.

“Gun Death” Machete Attack

Machetes are damn dangerous weapons:

A Lawrence County man was arrested Sunday for attacking a woman with a machete.

What we’re talking about is a common gardening tool, but when wielded with murder in mind it does the job.

Hey, not a “gun Death”, so nothing to be concerned about, right?

Images of the Antis: False Dichotomy

This one is just a multi-tiered level of discussion:

So first up we have a variant of “Gun Death” with their “In-Person Voter Fraud”, but also what a false dichotomy there! First up Guns in America are big piles of paperwork with pieces of steel attached to them, even in the most gun friendly states guns can only be manufactured for public consumption by licensed FFLs, they put every gun they make in great detail into their books, then those guns can only be sold to other FFLs who again record the guns in their books. The guns get recorded again when they are sold either to new FFLs (rinse and repeat) or to private citizens. After that the citizen doesn’t need to deal with another FFL, but that gun is now heavily papered by this point.

Then we have homicides. Do you think many homicides go unnoticed? Pretty hard to make somebody dead without SOMEBODY noticing that they aren’t alive anymore. Now SOLVING those homicides are a little more tricky, especially if the departed had some involvement with the gang system, but that isn’t relevant to this system. While not all homicides are solved, damn near all of them are RECORDED.

Now let’s look at “In Person Voter Fraud”, somebody who legally can’t vote, or who has otherwise already voted strolls into a polling place with no Voter ID requirement. All they need to do is give out a name and an address. This could be for an infirm relative, or maybe somebody who isn’t in the country, or in many cases somebody who’s dead. Hell back when the ACORN scandal was in high gear people were noting that 100% fake people were being registered to vote. A lot of nay-sayers scoffed at this since those fake people didn’t exist…but without voter ID how would you know? They could walk in, claim a ballot, vote and walk out, and even move on to the next polling place and vote again!

Now there are no cameras or recording devices at these polling place, and somebody’s dead Granny isn’t going to complain if her vote gets stolen, and further if the name is on the registered voting lists it’s LEGAL! So how are you going to tell if somebody is legitimately voting or not? Only once the election is over and the ballots are tallied can it be seen if dead people, or fake people voted, and even then with our secret ballot system, what are you going to do?

Just because so few people have been CAUGHT doesn’t mean people aren’t doing it.

And of course comes the last part. You have the right to keep and bear arms (and note that for any newly made gun that gun can ONLY get into the public with an valid ID, and given that selling guns across state lines is a serious crime, you’ll be hard pressed to find a private seller selling to a stranger without valid photo ID being exchanged) you don’t have the right to vote. There are laws that say who and when you can vote, but no law that says we need to vote at all.

Further the idea that there are registered and active voters out there who don’t have at least ONE form of valid ID is laughable. You can’t EXIST in society without State ID. Sure many people don’t drive, but if they need to buy booze or cigarettes SOMEBODY is going to card them. Do they fly, take the bus, or train? Photo ID required. Check into a hotel room? Show some ID. Open a bank account or try to pay with a Check? Can I see some ID? The list goes on!

It’s also not expensive unless the state in question (like Mine) has decided to pile on the fees out of greed. There has been some talk that immigrants who were born in other countries might have difficulties getting a birth certificate for ID…but if they’re immigrants they already had to do all that. ILLEGAL immigrants don’t have to, but they shouldn’t be able to vote.

Sorry but every case of Voter Fraud I’ve ever read about were from die-hard “Progressive” Democrats who HATE the 2nd Amendment, and this is the reason why so many people who are anti-gun want “universal background checks” but hate the idea of voter ID laws.
