This is an awesome one!
Enjoy!
When things go wrong with a government agency, it’s nice to know nobody was watching!
All of the 470 senior executives at the Department of Veterans Affairs received annual ratings over the last four years indicating that they were “fully successful” in their jobs or even better, according to data released at a congressional hearing on Friday, despite delays in processing disability compensation claims and problems with veterans’ access to the department’s sprawling health care system.
None of the department’s senior executives received either of the two lowest of five possible job ratings, “minimally satisfactory” or “unsatisfactory,” in any of the past four fiscal years.
The data also showed that in 2013, nearly 80 percent of the senior executives were rated either “outstanding” or as having exceeded “fully successful” in their job performance, and that at least 65 percent of the executives received performance awards, which averaged around $9,000. Only about 20 percent received the middle of the five ratings.
Veterans Affairs officials sought to play down the data, saying that only 15 senior executives across the entire federal government had received either of the two lowest ratings in the most recent year — suggesting that the high ratings enjoyed by V.A. officials were not out of line with those of their counterparts at other government agencies.
Yep people were dying. Not just any people but US Armed Service Veterans, which is BETTER than “just people”, were dying waiting for care, and the people overseeing these horrible failures got great performance reviews and bonuses! Of course this also means the people overseeing the top management couldn’t be bothered to do THEIR job either.
Also look at that last paragraph in the quote. How many more agencies aren’t doing their damn jobs and getting healthy bonuses for it?
Hey it’s not like the overseers are giving them their OWN money! Public till money is “Free Money” to government hacks!
They should be going to jail, but instead we gave them raises and bonuses! Classy huh?
This is interesting. I just found a pair of images that had a remarkably similar message of other images covered here:
First up was from the other day:

Now in the first Image the American kids are trying to talk the South and Central American kids out of settling here because you KNOW America with all their guns, we’re so dangerous!
This one the US School kids are actually EVACUATING the country. First up, we keep talking about border security and a fence to keep people OUT not IN. It isn’t like Mexico and Canada have a huge problem with United States Illegal Aliens. Mexico has a problem with Illegal Aliens, but they’re all from Central America looking for the “Better” life in Mexico. Of course Mexico just trucks them to the Rio Grand and tells them to start swimming or they’ll kill them.
Of course given Mexico’s violent problem with the Cartels and that nation’s problem with Kidnapping (with the police often doing the dirty deeds!) I really don’t think those kids would be smart to head south to flee danger.
Really the only thing missing from this from this cartoon is having criss-crossing bullets flying over the US Side, because it seems that all anti-gun cartoonists the bullets in this country are like moths around a porch light!
Next up the cartoonist clarified a question I had.

Ahhh you see there is BLOOD IN THE STREETS and WILD WEST SHOOTOUTS (trademark: Anti-Gun hysteria) from open carry activists and the Stand Your Ground people.
First up, nope, no there isn’t, and second, as if they aren’t one in the same? but hey, Antis, you’ve never been right about your violent predictions before, so just keep making them! It never hurts to be opposed by fools when you’re fighting for your rights!
A $2 million bond has been set for a central Ohio man who police say killed his father with a machete.
…Neighbors tell reporters that *REDACTED* had moved in with his father and the father’s preschool-aged son in Heath last month after being released from prison.
The younger *REDACTED* had served 11 months for assaulting a peace officer.
Known violent offender murders a family member, and “Access to firearms” wasn’t a factor. Hey, but let’s focus on guns, because there was NOTHING ANYBODY COULD HAVE DONE to prevent this story, right?
This one is rich!

First up, Mass shootings are not on the rise, when you factor in the rate due to the population growth it’s on the DECLINE!
School Shootings generally aren’t, and our nation is only safer in recent years.
BTW how do South and Central Americans treat guns and gun ownership? Hmmmm I don’t think that’s the message this cartoonist was attempting.
And While We’re at it Have a look at this one:

Well except not. Looking at those “Unintentional Injuries” closer: Motor Vehicle accidents, drowning, falls, burns, are all more of a risk. The CDC doesn’t bother with firearms injuries because it isn’t a relevant number. Now in 0-17 years (CDC for some reason likes to lump in 18 and 19 year-olds as “Children”) cancer isn’t a big killer, it really doesn’t get nasty until we get older, so they MIGHT be right. Still Firearms kill a ZILLION TIMES more than meteor impacts, so obviously we should ban guns!
Why would anybody need a baseball bat!?
A Chicago man convicted in the savage beating of an Irish exchange student, which left her unable to walk or speak, faces up to 120 years in prison when he is sentenced on Thursday.
…REDACTED, 35, was found guilty last October of bashing two young women over the head with a wooden bat and robbing them in April 2010, including Natasha McShane, then 23, a graduate student from Northern Ireland.
The attack, which took place in a neighborhood popular with young adults, brought international attention to the problem of violent crime in Chicago, the country’s third-largest city. It also stirred Chicago’s large Irish-American community, which held fundraisers on McShane’s behalf.
Note the article’s mention of “Violent Crime Problem”, see this wasn’t a “Gun Death”, so the people who are concerned about this savage attack are noting the VIOLENT CRIME, not just gun crime. Because a young woman crippled is the tragic part of the story, not the tool used!
This is a neat little post from Tam:
There’s a certain level of comfort associated with carrying the same gun.
I used to definitely do the whole “If it’s Tuesday, I must be carrying the Luger” thing. And I understand the desire, even if you’re carrying concealed, to have something cool-looking or pretty on, whether anyone else can see it or not. If people weren’t like that, they’d sell nothing but tighty-whities and granny panties in stores and Joe Boxer and Vickie’s Secret would be long out of business.
I just don’t do the CCW as fashion statement anymore. I haven’t for a while. I change carry guns only marginally more frequently than the country changes presidential administrations. I sometimes miss the “Whatcha carryin’ today?” easy conversation starter among fellow gun nuts (“Same gun I’ve been carrying since you’ve known me, why?”) but maybe the time savings from not having to select a gun and holster in the morning is worth it.
I’ve never been one for the “Firearm Fashion Show”, I have three carry guns. S&W1911Sc in a Shoulder holster if I’m out and about for the day and can wear and appropriate cover garment. Kahr PM45 in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster if I can’t conceal the 1911, quick trips around town, or I think I’ll be rolling around on the floor with my daughter where the 1911 just digs into my ribs. Ruger LCR .357 if I want something lighter than the PM45, or I feel I can better carry the reload for the LCR how I’m dressed. It’s that simple. Also I have a S&W642 that I never carry anymore. It’s a great gun, but the LCR does everything it does, but better. The 642 is just a backup for my backup.
For pocket knives I often do do the “Fashion Show”, but I’m finding that to be more rutted than it was in the past. Now I tend to just carry my CRKT Carajas, which has essentially supplanted the CRKT Premonition for much the same reasons as the LCR supplanted the 642.
So how do you all roll?
Tonight we will FINALLY talk about Dark Tide! Man we totally messed up the timeline for the June book!
Still that should be good for discussion! We also have a few more gems in the mix for you too!
So at 9pm EST call in talk politics, talk labor standards, talk Molasses killing families! It’s 214-530-0036 so easy to dial with a finger OR a thumb!
It’s a gonna be a ton of fun! It’s THE SQUIRREL REPORT!!!
So I bought a certain S&W M&P9c.
Jay got it as a T&E gun and decided to keep it. Since it was a T&E he didn’t pic the features and one of the “Features” is a magazine disconnect. I’ve made comments about magazine disconnects in the past. I hate them. I’ll keep them in the gun if the piece is a collector’s item, but overall I hate them.
So I went TO THE INTERNET to find out how to remove one. Found some really good videos here:
And I ended up using this video:
Because I accidentally punched the sear pin too, and I wanted to make sure the plunger and sear were back in place. Trimming and inserting the new spring (I used a pen spring from an old click pen…technically two because one went FLYING into the great nowhere) was a bit of a Charlie Foxtrot, but once I had the spring and the sear disconnector back in place and pinned all was well.
Took a little work to get the rear block back in, but now the gun goes “Click” when it used to go “Squish”, also I can now field strip the gun the same as a Glock, by simply locking the side back, turning the takedown lever, then once the side is released pull the trigger and the top comes right off.
Yeah the sear disconnect is a nice little feature for safety, but now it isn’t necessary to break the gun down. I’ll need to take it out to the range now to make sure it works for real!
**UPDATE** Couldn’t resist. Took a quick trip to the range with one loaded 10 round magazine. Fired each shot by cambering a round, dropping the mag, then firing.
10 Booms, no malfs, no magazine! I hate doing fiddly work with the guts of guns, but when I do them right boy does it feel great!
WE NEED TO BAN ASSAULT WEAPONS!!! THEY ARE WEAPONS OF WAR WITH NO PLACE OUTSIDE A BATTLEFIELD.
We’ve all herd it now, and the retort is “Why do we issue police officers AR-15s and pistols with a capacity of 15 or greater?
POLICE NEEEEEED THOSE WEAPONS BECAUSE THE CRIMINALS ARE USING DEADLY ASSAULT WEAPONS WE NEED TO BAN NOW!!!11!!
Nope:
Most of the guns seized from gang members, felons and drug traffickers in eight U.S. cities over a decade were handguns, not the automatic assault rifles often depicted in Hollywood crime stories, according to a study published on Monday.
In the sample of 10,435 weapons seized by police in cities that included Los Angeles and Washington, 77 percent were handguns, and seven out of 10 of those were semi-automatic, according to the Geneva-based research project Small Arms Survey. The guns were seized from 2002 to 2012.
Less than 12 percent of the confiscated weapons were rifles, and the number of machine guns, submachine guns and machine pistols recovered by police were negligible, said the study “Small Arms Survey 2014: Women and Guns.”
Oh there’s another one! We point out that so-called “Assault Weapons” are NOT battlefield guns, as they are semi-auto only.
BUT THOSE GUNS ARE EASILY MODIFIED INTO MACHINE GUNS!!!!
Well they ARE “Easily” modified to full auto…but with that definition of “Easy” guns are also “Easily” MANUFACTURED from common household products. Of course if they were, why aren’t police finding them? Yeah, criminals don’t bother!
Gun control is carried on the backs of LIES!
