EPA Keeping Us Safe!

By Releasing personal information on small farmers to Environmentalist Groups.

The Environmental Protection Agency acknowledged Tuesday that it released personal information on potentially thousands of farmers and ranchers to environmental groups, following concerns from congressional Republicans and agriculture groups that the release could endanger their safety….It is inexcusable for the EPA to release the personal information of American families and then call for it back, knowing full well that the erroneously released information will never be fully returned,” he said in a statement to FoxNews.com. “While EPA acknowledging that it erred is a first step, more must be done to protect the personal information of our farmers and ranchers now and in the future. I will continue to demand answers from the EPA on how this information was collected and why it is still being distributed to extreme environmental groups to the detriment of our farm and ranch families.”

The information on livestock and produce farmers was sought through a Freedom of Information Act request by the groups Earth Justice, the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Pew Charitable Trust. The groups, which have not commented on whether they plan to return the documents, were originally given information on roughly 80,000 farmers and ranchers.

The agency acknowledged the information included individual names, email addresses, phone numbers and personal addresses.

Now when it comes to the Environmental Activists Earthjustice isn’t one of the worst, but they rub elbows with more dangerous groups. What’s the worst that could happen!

Glad to know Daddy .Gov is looking out for us!

Bear Defense, In Massachusetts

This is an interesting story, and why we need to fight against gun control:

Richard Ahlstrand, of Auburn, Massachusetts, faces criminal charges after encountering a bear in his back yard and shooting the damned thing to avoid being mauled or eaten. Specifically, as noted at Reason 24/7, he’s charged with “illegally killing a bear, illegally baiting a bear, illegal possession of a firearm and failure to secure a firearm.” All of these charges, once translated from Massachusetts to American, seem to stack up to outrage that Ahlstrand didn’t make his yard completely inhospitable to animals that are rarely seen in the area, and then investigated a suspicious noise with a weapon in hand rather than cower under the bed. Worst of all, he actually defended himself when he encountered danger.

According to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, Ahlstrand had a 50-gallon drum of birdseed in his backyard, and this appears to be the basis of the “baiting”charge against him. Leaving the birdseed outside might be considered a foolish idea in an area where bears are known to congregate, but the same article quotes the police chief claiming that “bear are not common in Auburn” with the last such sighting about a year ago. So Ahlstrand shouldn’t have had birdseed because … ?

When confronted by the bear, Ahlstrand had a shotgun with him — in his own backyard, remember — because he’d heard a noise and thought he’d seen a bear the day before.

As Joe Biden said “Get a Shotgun!” except in Massachusetts you need an FID card to posses that shotgun. Also while black bears in this area have been known to attack people, the bigger concern is property damage. Still if the bear thinks he now owns the seeds he might be aggressive if you think maybe you have rights to your own backyard.

And again, remember guns aren’t just for two-legged predators!

“Gun Death” Sucker Punch

There’s no crying over spilled milk, but what about a spilled drink?

Portsmouth Police say a “spilled drink” led to the beating death of a Dover man at The Page Sports Bar and Restaurant and that the perpetrator actually bragged about how he delivered a ‘haymaker” to the victim on Saturday night…Portsmouth Police Prosecutor David Colby said he punched Joshua Krantz, 24, of Dover in the back of the head at The Page on the dance floor of the Stadium Lounge on Saturday night at closing time “because he didn’t want to wreck his evening.”

This also is an example of how things can be deadly without having any “Stopping power”.

Krantz refused medical treatment offered by The Page’s security staff after O’Neill was escorted out of the establishment and was later taken home by some of his friends. Krantz later died after he sustained a fractured skull in the attack that resulted in an acute epidural hematoma.

The deceased refused medical treatment, and went home to “sleep it off”…unfortunately he died during the night as a result of his injuries.

Unarmed, but still deadly. But not a “Gun Death”.

Reason on Bullying

I’m no fan of Bullying, but still I think its a ubiquitous part of human nature. Everybody is bullied to some extent, and is a bully to some extent.

A Bit Spammy Here

Sorry for the lack of posts, it appears that my spam filter decided to take a powder break during the night and the comments section was filled with people saying how nice my blog was and how much I want to buy a knock-off Coach bag or invest in their get-rich-quick scheme.

Hopefully it will be under control soon, until then, don’t take any wooden nickles from these swine!

“Gun Death” More from China

Where guns are banned, so USE A BOMB!

State media say a Chinese man has set off explosives outside the home of his former in-laws in a southern Chinese city, killing seven and injuring 18.

No guns, so no biggie!

“Gun Death” Houston Mass Stabbing

Looks like a lunatic has stabbed a bunch of people in Houston:

Twelve people were rushed to area hospitals after an attack on the campus of Lone Star College Cy-Fair in northwest Harris County. Two other people were treated for minor wounds at the scene in the 9900 block of Barker Cypress.

Witnesses said a suspect ran down a hallway randomly stabbing students in the Health and Science Center.

Video here:

Yet another “Gun Free Zone” as the location for a massive attack. So far no dead, but a few people are in critical condition.

Also another thing to note is that there ZERO chatter about this from the anti-rights crowd…some violence just doesn’t concern them, even when its national news.

Thanks to all who sent me this, my email EXPLODED when this attack happened.

Be safe out there.

James Yeager Gets his Permit Back

Look Yeager isn’t a great or a smart man, still he hasn’t been charged for any of the crimes he pretty clearly has committed so this is good.

A Middle Tennessee weapons instructor whose YouTube rant about killing people gained national attention and cost him his Tennessee handgun carry permit might now be getting his permit back.

A Middle Tennessee firearms trainer who made an ominous comment about killing people in a YouTube video that gained national attention this week has had his handgun carry permit suspended Friday by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security.

James Yeager, 42, had his permit suspended based on a “material likelihood of risk of harm to the public,” the department said in a statement.

A general sessions judge in Benton County ruled last week that the state didn’t have enough evidence to suspend James Yeager’s carry permit.

Remember rights are there to protect the best of us. I don’t worry about my freedom of speech when I talk about a neat fish, or how cute ducklings are, we use freedom of speech to protect when we say something stupid or controversial. Same goes with the talk that the 2nd Amendment having anything to do with hunting.

Yeager isn’t great, but he didn’t deserve this. That still doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve a criminal trial, but without that they can keep their hands off his permit, as due process applies to all of us!

H/T ENDO
