Remove Gun-Free Zone status of Churches:
The Arkansas Senate is voting on legislation that would allow concealed handguns in churches, the first of several gun-related measures expected in this year’s session.
The Senate on Thursday planned to vote on a proposal by Republican Sen. Bryan King of Green Forest that would remove churches from the list of places where concealed weapons are prohibited. King’s proposal would leave it up to churches and other places of worship to determine whether to allow concealed handguns and who can carry them.
The “No Guns in Church” thing is a Southern thing, Northern states rarely have similar laws, and I suspect a good crop of Southern states don’t have it either. Hell in Massachusetts and other Colonial states it was actually ILLEGAL for able-bodied men to come UNARMED to Church (PDF).
I hope Arkansas does the right thing with this! Remember, if it saves JUST ONE LIFE!!!

“Assault Weapons” are only meant for mass murder….that’s why we give school police them, right?
The school police force in this Southern California city has acquired 14 high-powered semiautomatic rifles for officers to bring to campuses.
Fontana Unified School District police purchased 14 of the Colt LE6940 rifles last fall, and they were delivered the first week of December, a week before a gunman killed 26 students and educators at a Connecticut elementary school.
“I think it just further solidified the need to give our officers the tools they need to respond to an active shooter on campus,” schools Police Chief Billy Green said Wednesday about the tragedy.
But active shooters generally act alone, and in the odd Columbine scenario in a pair, why do they NEED those 30 round magazines? To the Police plan to murder children?
Of course not, those Colt AR-15s are great defensive weapons, and the gun you should reach for if you KNOW shots are being fired, and you want as much ammo as you can carry, because you can always return home, safe-and-sound, with ammo to spare.
The question is, what about an “Active Shooter” in my home or property? What about a gang of men armed with knives and clubs? Don’t I have the same need for the same tools?

Ummm, I’d disagree! First up, shotgun spread isn’t Hollywood. Have a look here!
At most defensive distances shotgun pellets aren’t going to spread enough to make a difference in hitting your target, so missing is still and option. Makes his “Double Barrel” argument a little less comforting. Large capacity shotguns are in the crosshairs of being banned. Further I suspect if Biden has ever fired a shotgun, it has to have been with dove or skeet loads, because the buckshot loads used defensively by police and military offer as much recoil of many of the African calibers suited for elephant! (Further the fast-burning powders used in shot-shells can compound that recoil)
Sorry, Joe, but if I had to train somebody to safely and accurately defend themselves, the easiest guns to keep ammo on target with defensive uses are semi-auto rifles in intermediate calibers (5.56×45, 7.62×39, and .300 BLK are strike me as ideal options) and semi-auto pistol caliber carbines in your standard calibers are hands down the easiest guns to quickly become proficient in.

The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office has released more information in the tragic snow plow death of a 4-year-old child in Star Prairie Township, Wis. Tuesday morning.
I will spare you the details, but its pretty brutal and sad. Any place that has heavy snow has people being killed with plows. Sometimes its private plows like this, but also municipal plows run people over too. Its pretty common.
But we really need to focus on “Gun Death”, because “Progressives” want their snow quickly cleared. Yeah, they care!

A woman who says she was ethnically targeted for a strip search at Detroit Metropolitan Airport has sued an airline and federal law enforcers.
Shoshana Hebshi was removed from a Frontier Airlines plane after it landed in Detroit on Sept. 11, 2011, the 10th anniversary of 9/11. The plane’s crew had reported suspicious behavior by two men who’d spent several minutes in the bathroom and were sitting near her.
Hebshi says she was ordered to remove her clothes, bend over and cough while she was searched. The Sylvania, Ohio, woman filed suit Tuesday. She says she was targeted because she is half-Arab and half-Jewish.
She didn’t know the men. No one was charged.
Honestly my first thought isn’t her ethic background, but how good she looks. There’s lots of documentation that attractive women get mishandled by TSA vastly more than average-looking ones.
Still the big take-away point is an innocent woman was abused, and humiliated without probable cause, or charges filed, over an incident where no one else was charged.
The TSA is the Keystone Kops….but at least the Kops films were cheap! The TSA is costing us BILLIONS, and isn’t a work of fiction!
