What worked in the past still works.

The young man staggered down a city street as blood flowed from a puncture wound. The weapon used in the steely attack — an ice pick — was sticking out of his lower back.

A common household tool that doubled as a lethal weapon for the members of Murder Incorporated can still be found in stores. It is perfectly legal to buy one.

The scene was reminiscent of an era in the 1930s and ’40s when members of a notorious Brooklyn murder syndicate left a trail of bodies riddled with ice-pick holes. This attack, however, was set in modern-day New York City, specifically, on Aug. 21, at 4:20 p.m. in the Norwood section of the Bronx.

While guns top the list of weapons used in violent assaults, every so often, a crime is committed with a weapon that is suggestive of a different era and seems mystifyingly out of place in the New York City of today.

We have deaths in the “Gun Death?” Files for knives, clubs, swords, and other old weapons. On a similar note, I remember talking to somebody who didn’t have a lot of money and only had an old S&W Model 10 as a carry gun, and she had gotten a bit wrapped up in the the whole caliber war thing. I pointed out to her that while the .38 Special is considered fairly mild by today’s standards, it was used by police, military and civilians for decades as the go-to handgun caliber. Its not like people have changed that much that old technology that killed in yesteryear won’t kill today.

Same goes for things like icepicks. What do the idiots who use the metric of “Gun Death” think will happen if guns were to magically vanish?

I know what will happen, we’ll go back to the “joys” of the Dark Ages, and the weak but good people won’t have guns to defend themselves.

At least she killed herself

Police say a Camden, N.J., mother apparently decapitated her 2-year-old boy and put his head in the freezer of their home before she fatally stabbed herself.

She was a sick monster, now she’s dead. Good, I just wish these beasts would start with themselves before moving to the next check box on their to-do list.

Still no gun, so no “Gun Death” so the antis don’t care!

Let’s dispense with the tools, New York did this!

Two teenagers charged in connection with the death of a 5-year-old New York girl whose body was dumped in a trash can are expected to make their first court appearance since their arrests….Isabella’s family had called police Monday morning to say she was missing from her great-grandmother’s Niagara Falls home, where she’d been staying overnight. Isabella’s great-grandmother said she’d last seen her Sunday night with Freeman, a neighbor and family friend.

Authorities said it appeared Isabella had been killed without any weapons being involved.

The beasts that rule New York and their stupid gun laws talk a lot about “Gun Death”, but what about this? These beasts killed a little girl with their bare hands! Fuck everybody who uses “Gun Death” to frame an argument! You’re heartless and evil!

Let’s compare and contrast with this one, as Maddmedic likes to send me “Gun Death” stories from Minnesota, which is also the home state of my favorite Anti-Rights fanatic, Joan Peterson. First Joan:

Guns? Any talk of gun restrictions in public places, such as at the Minnesota State Fair, is questioned by the gun rights extremists. Some of these folks believe that no one can restrict their rights for any reason whatsoever. Pigs are not protected by the Second Amendment….Restrictions on where guns can be carried are constitutional. So are restrictions on who can carry them and what types of guns can be owned. Because elected leaders wrongly believe they can’t engage in a discussion about gun policy, people are dying every day from bullets. People are not dying every day from Swine Flu. But we take precautions anyway because we know that if we don’t, more people could be infected with this disease, get sick and potentially die. That is the right thing to do. We should be treating guns the same way. Prevention is prudent and in the best interests of public health and safety.

Yep, Joan wants guns banned at the Minnesota State fair for public safety. Now the “Gun Death” story:

A fight at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul sent two men to Regions Hospital with stab wounds to their stomachs on Sunday.

The incident happened around 6:15 p.m. near the corner of Dan Patch Avenue and Cooper Street, fair officials said.

Officials say Pnayrpeo Chap and Sarasovarn Sourng, both 28, are still at Regions Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Their conditions are not known, and police say they are not cooperating with the investigation.

This comparison is EXACTLY why I labor at the “Gun Death?” Files. This covers all the bases.

First: There were no guns involved in this violent encounter. Granted none of the people were killed, but check the above archive, and you’ll find a lot of “Blade Death” stories…as a matter-of-fact the last story from Minnesota I posted a few days ago was a “Blade Death”.

Second: Joan doesn’t think we should carry guns for “Public Safety”. OK first we have a stabbing at the very fair she’s griping about, but we have the people in the hospital not cooperation with the police! Why do you think that is? I bet its Omertà from gang members! Even if it isn’t, does the state fair do background checks? Are there metal detectors to make sure weapons aren’t brought in? Hell fists and boots are good enough to kill a person (again, check those archives!). So we have violent felons, and that’s a non-issue, but no lawfully carried guns?

Sorry, but that’s a DAMN good reason to pack your gun! (Need I add “Carry your damn guns, people!”?)

Third: Joan isn’t mentioning this story, because for her only “Gun Death” counts!

Sorry Joan, when I go to the fair, I carry my gun, and I think everybody else should too!
