Future of Blogging

So a major group gave a pretty nice award to a plagiarist and luke-warm supporter of gun rights. Alan says this means nobody is listening to the blogs.

Meanwhile Miguel thinks its just old-style political work in a new world, and people sticking with what they know.

I have received an email from SAF pointing out they were unaware of Farago’s ugly and deplorable behavior. I believe them. Not everybody into guns or gun rights is into blogs, or Facebook, or Youtube or any other popular new media. Also Mr. Farago is NOT a Gun Rights or gun expert, what he IS good at is SEO, so google searches for his name and various terms, generally just lead back to his web page. Hell if you type in this post by Tam into google Farago’s plagiarism of it is the #1 hit. Essentially to dig up the truth about his site is you need to have an idea what’s going on in the first place, which if they were researching him for the award, they probably weren’t.

I personally think Alan today saying “Blogging is Dead” would be like somebody in 2000 saying “Women Don’t Shoot”, or what was said in the 1990s “The AR-15 has no sporting purpose”.

There are people on the cutting edge of an issue who will see the bullshit…but more pedestrian people will lag behind for a bit.

Plus I LIKE blogging, and I like reading your comments, and I suspect you ENJOY reading and commenting, so who am I to belittle that?

I’ll end with this quote: “A plagiarist calling gun rights advocates stupid? How great is that? Or, come to think of it, original.” -Robert Farago

October Suprise

Really same old shit in a different video. And just like when we learned all this in 2007 and 2008, it will continue to be ignored. Yes, our President is a Marxist, and a black supremacist….but what’s wrong with that?

“Gun Death” Dumptruck

This story sounded familiar, so I went into the archives to see if it was a repeat. Old story here. New story here. They are different.

A 72-year-old Chicago woman was struck and killed by a dump truck while crossing a street near her home.

The Chicago Tribune reports the incident occurred Friday evening on the city’s southwest side.

Police say the truck’s driver did not stop after hitting the woman.

More innocent people being struck in crosswalks by heavy industrial trucks! Obviously we don’t need buildings built THAT MUCH to be worth the lives of innocent people! We should just go back to living in log cabins in the woods, or sod houses on the planes! IF IT SAVES JUST ONE LIFE!!!!!

Of course it isn’t a “Gun Death” so the proposed ban is just a joke! Only “Gun Death” counts.

Political Signs

I don’t put political signs in my Yard. The big reason is the wife doesn’t like them, and when I bring them up she nixes the idea of putting them up. Also given politicians ability to go back on their promises, I’ll stand behind her. I mean I feel guilty about sending money to Scott Brown, as he’s broken every last one of his campaign promises. If I was hired for a job, and yet failed every one of my duties, they wouldn’t wait for my annual review to fire my ass…I’m just sayin’!

Sebastian talks a bit about the sign wars starting.

I went for a walk through some back streets of my neighborhood and I noticed something interesting. First I’ll note that my town is one of the most conservative towns in Massachusetts, so I saw more Republican signs than Democrat ones. Still the Democrat signs were all for Elizabeth Warren, and it seemed if they had a Warren sign, they had an Obama one too.

Meanwhile the Republican signs I saw were paired signs for Scott Brown, and Richard Tisei (An Openly Gay Republican with some strong libertarian leanings, I suspect he’ll win, as he’s got some issues with Organized Crime and Money Laundering in his family… He claims to have no knowledge of this, but that’s like Bill Clinton saying he didn’t have sex with that woman!

I only saw one Romney sign (tho the sign was bigger than the owner’s house, so maybe that counts more). As they say, signs don’t vote, but I think this speaks volumes. We know Romney here, and we’re not impressed.

Famous Guns, Big Money

Les sends me these stories of these famous guns fetching huge money at auction. Butch Cassidy’s

A .45-caliber gun once owned by Butch Cassidy has sold at auction in Southern California for $175,000.

A spokesman for the private seller said Sunday that the Colt Single Action Army revolver went to an anonymous online bidder.

Wow! And I thought the new SAA guns being sold by Colt were expensive! Seriously tho, black powder is horrible on steel, and the steel from those days is a lot less durable than the stuff we have today. To have a gun of this vintage survive the tests of time, and to have a famous pedigree makes the value go up.

Bonnie and Clyde:

Two guns once in the possession of notorious gangsters Bonnie and Clyde when they were killed in a hail of gunfire have sold at a New Hampshire auction for more than half a million dollars….Bobby Livingston of RR Auction said Bonnie Parker’s .38-caliber Detective Special that she had taped to her thigh when she was killed in 1934 in Louisiana drew the highest bid and sold for $264,000. Livingston said Clyde Barrow’s 1911 Colt .45-caliber automatic sold for $240,000 to the same bidder, who didn’t want to be named.

Huge money!

More Fast and Furious Guns Tied to Murder

Yeah and water is wet!

For the first time, Mexican victims of crimes tied to the botched Operation Fast and Furious are being identified, including teenagers killed in a 2010 massacre.

A new report finds dozens of weapons recovered in Mexico have been connected with the ill-fated and ill-conceived anti-gunrunning program. While some Mexican authorities estimate 300 of their citizens have been injured or killed by Fast and Furious guns, little has been known about those weapons south of the U.S. border until now.

Through the Mexican Freedom of Information Act, Spanish-language network Univision and Fox News obtained a list of 100,000 weapons recovered in Mexico in 2009 and 2010. The guns were then compared with the serial numbers of the 2,000 guns sold in Fast and Furious.

Univision identified a total of 57 more previously unreported firearms that were bought by straw purchasers monitored by ATF during Operation Fast and Furious, and then recovered in Mexico in sites related to murders, kidnappings and other actions by Mexican hit men and drug cartels.

They they go misusing that term “Botched”. The ATF knowingly knowingly sold guns to known Mexican criminals, then made sure that the guns safely made their way back to Mexico. They made no attempt to track the guns once they left the country. This is not a bungle, this was the whole plan. They did retain the serial numbers for this exact reason, so the guns could be tied to international murders.

Why would they do this? Simple, because the administration wants to circumvent Heller and McDonald by making gun control a international issue. Of course they did this by circumventing all US gun control and law enforcement!

“Gun Death” Domestic Argument

Joan Peterson of Minnesota draws her Joyce Foundation paycheck from working in a group that works in gun control and domestic violence. One angle on why she wants to ban guns is to prevent domestic violence. This is her Utopia.

A Rosemount, Minn., man was arrested Thursday morning after investigators accused him of killing his 68-year-old mother after a late-night argument at her St. Cloud home.

St. Cloud police were called to the 2700 block of Atwood Drive at 12:34 a.m. Thursday for a disturbance call of two people arguing. Neighbors, including a 12-year-old girl next door, heard a woman’s panicked screams.

“Just heard screaming around the neighborhood and some man aggressively talking,” recalled Alyssa Steinke. “Then, (I) heard it again.”

Officers found both mother and son at the back of the house, and police said the woman suffered a life-threatening injury from a sharp-edged weapon.

Same state, again domestic violence, and death. Difference? This is not “Gun Death” that Joan runs her career around. Every time she says “Gun Death” this is the “Utopia” she wants for us all. The young murdering the weak. So long as it isn’t guns, she’s fine with that!
