“Gun Death” Mass Stabbing

Where guns are banned

Police say a man wielding a knife has injured four people in the third such rampage in South Korea in less than a week.

Note the commonality of this kind of attack in this nation. We’ve also documented a ton of these attacks in China, as well as a few in the Philippines.

Its not the tool, its the people. Even if guns were ever successfully removed from society, the people so inclined for mass violence will still find a way. Also the idea that guns CAN be removed is proven many times as an impossibility.

Of course those looking to hide this fact quickly turn to the made-up metric of “Gun Death” to conceal this, as attacks such as this are not “Gun Violence”. Does that make you feel safer?

I Missed This One

When talking about the fading of global environmentalism, I missed Silent Spring.

Reason rips it apart!

Hennry Rollins and a Robbery

I’m not a big Black Flag fan, but I love Rollins’ Spoken Word performances.

When seconds count, the police are minutes away!

Another Angle

Mike Over at ENDO points out this interesting video.

Mike concentrates on the anti-gun stupidity of Sarah Silverman (I’ll also note the hypocrisy of the fact that she’s bitching about poor people being disenfranchised, AND suggesting they join in a fairly expensive hobby essentially just to piss off conservatives….yeah that makes PERFECT sense!)

Still I’d like to note glaring omission. You see “Progressives” love subsidies. They want EVERYTHING free, Healthcare, birth control, abortion, housing, jobs, or just welfare checks. Have you noticed in all this positive ID discussion that subsidies haven’t come up? Honestly I’m against government paying for much of anything, especially voter ID which is a fairly cheap commodity. How many poor people do you know who don’t have $20-$50 kicking around for non-essential expenses like going to see movies, cable TV, booze, or cigarettes? Yeah they could cancel cable for just one month and have enough in their wallet for a nice ID that’s valid for YEARS.

You see they don’t actually WANT voter ID because its not the money they’re concerned about, its the fact that positive ID would prevent easy cheats like having illegal aliens or prohibited felons, or people who are no longer alive from voting. Same with having somebody racking up a dozen registrations and voting multiple times!

They don’t want ID because they WANT to cheat!

“Gun Death” A Bad One

Really bad

Police say a New Jersey woman apparently decapitated her 2-year-old child before stabbing herself to death after a domestic dispute.

Good thing it was Jersey…otherwise she might have had a gun….

Water: Still Wet

Again Free Market dynamics are true!

Californians are fleeing in droves to live in better-managed states, according to a conservative research group.

The long-running exodus from the cash-strapped Golden State is an old story, but a new study by The Manhattan Institute finds that the biggest beneficiaries of the population drain are Texas, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Idaho, Utah, Georgia and South Carolina. Lower cost of living, less government debt and a more business-friendly culture are the main drivers, according to the study.

Is there any doubt? I mean we all get up in the morning and go to work. On the weekends we don’t go to work. Why? Well its because we’d rather NOT go to work, but they PAY us. Better run states essentially PAY people to live there, when you compare it to the cost of livings of states like California or Massachusetts or New York.

Its only common sense!

Headed in the Right Direction

Looks like the International Environmental movement is fading.

Twenty years ago, the first Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro marked the arrival of environmentalism as a potent force in international affairs. That 1992 conference produced the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which aims to set limits on global emissions of greenhouse gases, and the Convention on Biological Diversity, which promotes ecosystem conservation. At the time, Chris Flavin of the Worldwatch Institute crowed, “You cannot go to any corner of the globe and not find some degree of environmental awareness and some amount of environmental politics.” With socialism in disrepute, Flavin said, environmentalism had become the “most powerful political ideal today.”

Two decades later, that ideal is in disarray. A 20th anniversary conference in Brazil last June, the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development—nicknamed Rio +20—was an undisguised flop. Greenpeace spokesperson Kumi Naidoo judged Rio +20 a “failure,” while Oxfam Chief Executive Barbara Stocking called it a “hoax.” More than 1,000 environmentalist and leftist groups signed a post-conference petition entitled “The Future We Don’t Want,” a play on The Future We Want, the platitudinous document that diplomats from 188 nations agreed on there. Naidoo lamely vowed that disappointed environmentalists would engage in acts of civil disobedience.

This isn’t to say we need to open the stopcocks on the chemical waste dumps or avoid cleaner ways of conducting business…its just that the Environmentalist movement has been flooded with political hacks and Luddite extremists. We were warned of toxic smog, acid rain, mass extinction, “Greenhouse Effect, come “Global Warming”, come “Global Climate Change”, among many others.

People want to keep the place clean, but they also want to live their lives, and spare expense at their business. There just aren’t enough true believers to keep the lies alive!
