I Wonder Who Will

Strip Clubs Excited About the GOP Convention:

Many clubs have taken out ads inviting GOP delegates “to party like a liberal” in a city where the “poles are open all night.” City officials say the convention, expected to draw more than 50,000 visitors, could be Tampa’s biggest party ever. Imagine all those rainmakers.

A strip club with a spaceship on the roof seems an odd place to expect Republicans. At first blush, one might not equate lap dances with the political party that wraps itself in buttoned-down family values.

But at convention time, even upstanding men seem to seek out undressed women. When the Christian group Promise Keepers held a convention in Tampa a couple of years ago, attendees flooded the 2001 Odyssey, co-owner Jim Kleinhans recalls. They had such a good time that “they kept their promise to come back the next night.”

Tampa has a ton of strip clubs, and the GOP Convention will bring in a TON of foot traffic. I’m sure a bunch of delegates and party men and women might enjoy the clubs, but I doubt any of the elected official will risk getting their picture taken. I’m sure most clubs have a strict camera policy, but knowing what the National Enquirer and probably even other groups would pay for a GOP Solon stuffing a bill in a G-String might make it worth the risk of getting stomped by a bouncer.

Still I bet Rand Paul won’t be bothered by all that! He’s cool like that, and doesn’t give a damn about the party Schoolmarms!

Anti-Freedom, Pro-Criminal

The “Progressives” are against good people and always doing their best to help the criminal element:

A small liberal arts college in western Massachusetts is offering a new scholarship to illegal immigrants.

Hampshire College officials say the endowment and scholarship will finance one student’s education every four years. The student will get at least $25,000 in scholarship annually, beginning this fall.

What other crimes are they willing to reward? Is there a scholarship for rape? Maybe a bonus for rape of a minor? How about grand theft? How about dealing drugs?

This is just shameful!

Daycare with Toddler Cage Match

WOW! I used to work in a Daycare, and we didn’t run the show like this:

The three daycare employees who were arrested on Monday for allegedly watching and encouraging toddlers to fight each other were released Tuesday afternoon after posting $10,000 secured bond….In the video, police say one child can be heard crying and yelling, ‘He’s pinching me,’ while a daycare worker responds, ‘No pinching, only punching.’”

“Clearly one of the children is crying and does not want to continue on and he is pushed back into the fray by one of the adults,” Dover Police Captain Tim Stump said.

Wow! That’s just INSANE! Bah so much to say about this and I just can’t get it all out!

Rewarding Bad Behavior

Can you wonder why horrible things like Fast and Furious happen?

Republican lawmakers allege in a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder that a key figure in the failed Fast and Furious anti-gunrunning operation has been allowed to earn a second paycheck while still receiving his government salary.

The new allegations come as Holder reviews the long-awaited internal report detailing what happened in — and who is to blame for — Fast and Furious, in which the U.S. knowingly let some 2,500 weapons slip into the hands of the Sinaloa Cartel in Mexico, failing to track the guns as planned….Meanwhile, Sen. Charles Grassley and Rep. Darrel Issa, the two Republicans leading the charge against Holder on Capitol Hill, claimed in a letter Tuesday that ATF Assistant Deputy Director Bill McMahon has received a leave of absence allowing him to pull down two salaries. Taxpayers pay him six figures to do his ATF job while he’s also reportedly pulling down in excess of $100,000 as the full-time director of global security and investigations for JP Morgan in the Philippines.

The arrangement allows McMahon to retire in December with a full government pension.

Yep, help a corrupt government operation that undermines the 2nd Amendment and kills HUNDREDS of people, and you get away with a posh pension and your pockets BULGING with money! Can you wonder why none of these desk jockeys didn’t say “This is a horrible idea” when Fast and Furious was conspired?

Hell we wouldn’t even know about it if it wasn’t for whistle blowers who knew they were going into harms way!

“Gun Death” Superbug

Wow, this warrants a special post:

Over six frightening months, a deadly germ untreatable by most antibiotics spread in the nation’s leading research hospital. Pretty soon, a patient a week was catching the bug. Scientists at the National Institutes of Health locked down patients, cleaned with bleach, even ripped out plumbing – and still the germ persisted.

By the end, 18 people harbored the dangerous germ, and six died of bloodstream infections from it. Another five made it through the outbreak only to die from the diseases that brought them to NIH’s world-famous campus in the first place.

It took gene detectives teasing apart the bacteria’s DNA to solve the germ’s wily spread, a CSI-like saga with lessons for hospitals everywhere as they struggle to contain the growing threat of superbugs.

CSI, more like those crazy contagion horror films like Outbreak, Contagion, and The Andromeda Strain!

Its one thing to be chased by a guy with a hockey mask and a butcher knife, its another thing to be stalked by a killer you can’t even see or feel! Good work guys at sorting that one out!

Did I Mention I Read Monster Hunter Alpha Last Week?

This latest project from Dragon Leatherworks is JUST AMAZING!

The holster that I made for one of Larry’s BIGGEST fans. I think it came out great, and the pictures from my customer showing his 625 with the MHI engraving on the sideplate in the MHI holster I built is REALLY cool….

You said it! Wow! I Really like the green splash on the MHI Logo AND the MHI Side Plates on the 625. I’m sure Earl Harbinger will be calling soon asking for a pair for himself!

Did He Think This Through?

This story got me scratching my head:

For a while, having Julian Assange crash at the Ecuadorian embassy in London wasn’t that big of a nuisance. Sure, Assange was always there. But it wasn’t his fault — he would be extradited to Sweden to face allegations of sexual assault if he ever left. And yeah, there wasn’t really space for him there, so he “sleeps on an air mattress in a small office that has been converted to a bedroom,” according to the New York Times.

We talked about all the luxuries of the modern prisons here, is Assange’s political asylum any better?

I have mixed feelings about Mr. Assange, on one hand he’s a bit of an anarchist who doesn’t seem to care if his wiki-leaks page gets good people killed, on the other hand he is doing good work keeping governments accountable. I haven’t done the math so I’ll just reserve judgement.

Still to avoid going to prison he’s essentially locked himself in a small office to sleep on an air mattress, and NEVER go outside. I guess there are better chances of “Escape” for him, but really would he be worse off if he was convicted of sexual assault in Sweden?

Bad Justice: Famous

Or more accurately: “Can you Imagine if He shot an Average Joe?”

John Lennon’s killer was denied release from prison in his seventh appearance before a parole board, New York corrections officials said Thursday….Chapman shot Lennon in December 1980 outside the Manhattan apartment building where the former Beatle lived. He was sentenced in 1981 to 20 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder. The musician, singer and songwriter was 40.

“Despite your positive efforts while incarcerated, your release at this time would greatly undermine respect for the law and tend to trivialize the tragic loss of life which you caused as a result of this heinous, unprovoked, violent, cold and calculated crime,” board member Sally Thompson wrote. Board members Joseph Crangle and Marc Coppola agreed.

The panel praised Chapman’s conduct and accomplishments but said “parole shall not be granted for good conduct and program completions alone.” The board noted there was significant opposition to his release.

If this had been a crazy homeless man stabbing a college co-ed on her way back from the bars, or on her way to class, do you think anybody but the immediate family would remember the case enough to express their feelings to the board?

The only reason why he’s going to the can is because he shot a member of the most popular band in the world. Still:

Chapman can try again for parole in two years.

Let’s face it the system WANTS him out, and frankly I don’t see the point. Not murdering people is EASY, I do it all the time, and just about everybody else does this as well. Why do we need to really be concerned about the few defective drones out there why not only don’t play by the rules, but have no concept that there are rules at all?

Bad Party Guest

Wow!

A hefty hippo chased away from his herd at a South African game reserve has found a refreshing place to relax: the lodge’s swimming pool. Now it’s stuck there….Wentzel said the 4-year-old hippo’s mother gave birth recently, and more dominant males forced him from the herd.

The staff has been feeding the hippo. Ferreira said it’s been noticeably relaxed with no other hippos fighting it for dominance, though the water in the pool has been getting mucky with hippo poop. The pool will be entirely drained before the hippo is lifted out.

Because the hippo was chased away by his herd, it will be moved to another animal sanctuary, Ferreira said.

Can you imagine what that pool will look like after its been decanted? Also what a rough job it’ll be for the biologists removing the brute. Hippos are HUGE and VERY dangerous.

Man I thought it was yucky when I’d see my neighbor scooping dead frogs out of their pool, and the occasional squirrel!
