A Nightmare

This is sometimes the best the system can do to protect you:

A Northfield man has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for threatening his girlfriend and assaulting a Northfield police officer.

Michael Lee Schwebach, 22, was on probation when the incident took place in December.

Schwebach had previously been convicted of terroristic threats in June 2011, domestic abuse, terroristic threats and attempted assault of a peace officer in April 2011 and domestic assault in January 2011, according to Minnesota Court records.

Probation! Of course they’ll keep a close eye on him so we’ll be safe!

After a night of drinking in December, Schwebach got into an altercation with his girlfriend on the side of a road. After he allegedly shoved her down several times, injuring her knee and wrist, she was able to get away with the help of a friend. The girlfriend spoke with police to report the assault and said Schwebach had drank about a “half of a bottle” of alcohol and said if she called police that he’d kill her. She also told police that Schwebach carries a knife with him.

Terms of Schweback’s probation required him to wear a monitoring bracelet, which he cut off that night. Schweback had hitched a ride to the Big Steer, the complaint says, but managed to get back to Northfield and to the residence his girlfriend was at. He began beating on the door and she called police.

Northfield Police arrived and attempted to arrest Schwebach, but he spat at officers, yelled obscenities and resisted arrest. Schwebach was eventually restrained and placed in a police car, but beat his head against the cage and ripped off the door handle, all the while threatening the officers.

Officers used a Taser on Schwebach, but it apparently had no effect. The complaint says he pulled the Taser probe out of his chest and smiled and kept saying, “Shoot him.” Officers brought him to Northfield Hospital to subdue him but standard medicine didn’t work. A shot of stronger medicine worked and he was secured to a hospital bed.

So he was drinking heavily (generally prohibited by probation) and cut off his monitoring bracelet (no doubt on that one being a no-no!). He assaulted his girlfriend, and carries a knife (depends on the laws and the terms of the probation if this is a legal factor…but it does point out the lethality. Anybody can get a knife, or a rock, or a club etc to get a force multiplier).

He eventually catches back up with his girlfriend, and thankfully she had a locked door, and the police arrived in time, but the police threw everything less-lethal under the sun at this creep with little luck.

BTW can you imagine if you happened upon this scene before the Po-Po arrived? You think you’re safe just because you’re not this monster’s girlfriend? Also what was he up to in the time where he was under the radar?

Carry your damn guns people! There are monsters about, and in many cases the cage doors have been left open!

Again, Anti-Freedom, not Anti-Gun

Thought I’d share this little post from Joan just for the hand-tip. You’ll note the “Guns” tag isn’t used on this one. She does find her way into the gun issue but not before dropping this.

Yesterday a panel of guys came to a House hearing, led by Republican Darrell Issa, entitled, ” “Lines Crossed: Separation of Church and State. Has the Obama Administration Trampled on Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Conscience?”” Really? No bias there. So whose freedoms are being trampled here? This panel of guys were going to let the country know about why some women should be prevented from getting the health care most women will now be getting under the Affordable Care Act. This, of course, if you have been paying attention, involves free access to birth control bills and other forms of contraception. Last Friday, a compromise was struck that should have ended this kerfuffle. But, of course, the Republican extremists are not letting it go. Like bulldogs, they have refused to let a controversial issue die. This is not a winning issue for the Republicans. 99% of women have used contraception at some point in their lives. Even 98% of Catholic women have used contraception even though the Catholic church doesn’t condone it. The majority of Americans think this controversy is bunk. But never mind, the guys have proceeded down a path leading to the cliff.

Now of course this whole controversy is that Obamacare would force healthcare providers such as ones run by the Catholic Church and other religious groups to fund and administer birth control and abortion.

I’m not Christian, and while I’m very much against abortion (I personally take a libertarian stance in that while the mother may be choosing to have a procedure on her own body, its done without the consent of her living child who is killed in the process.) until recently I was an avid consumer of contraception. I also enjoy alcohol caffeine, tobacco, pork, shellfish, and many other religious taboos.

That being said I have nothing but support and respect to people who avoid such taboos in the name of practice and piety of their religion. Its their right to do that as much as my right to not be confined by the teachings of religions I’m not a member of.

The above issue of Obamacare is a blatant violation of the 1st Amendment freedom of religion. A Catholic hospital or healthcare provider sees it as a sin to administer or supply abortion or contraception, there is ZERO reason why they should be forced at government gunpoint to commit a taboo.

While they mostly focus on guns, there isn’t a right in the Bill of Rights that these lunatics hold sacred, at least in the context of people or political classes that aren’t them. Also Joan likes to pretend that she is somehow speaking for a majority of Americans when she gives her anti-freedom screeds, but you’ll see consistently across the gun control ranks that these are only the further of left-wing Democrats. A Fraction of a fraction if you will.

Just thought it was a telling lesson.

I’m very happy that the guys in my life are not like the guys I have described in this blog post. Change is coming. Women are speaking out and claiming their place in the important debates of our time.

You are so right, Joan, but you are completely unaware of what changes are coming!

Low Hanging Fruit

I just have to mess with Joan a bit more. The comments to this post are just too damn good!

First up the Post is Joan’s standard aggregate of convenient news stories with Brady and Joyce boilerplate for filler. Remember antis are AGAINST Anecdotal evidence, except when they use it! (Just like Media Matters who posted the article is against carrying of guns…unless they want a bodyguard illegally carrying a gun for their own protection.

But in the Comments come the magic. First Joan Links this story:

Authorities say the suspect charged in the shooting death of a man over a dispute about dog waste had his license to carry a weapon revoked last month.

No word on why the permit was revoked (this is Philadelphia where they revoke permits illegally, but I won’t jump to conclusion) still it appears he was carrying his gun illegally, letting his dogs off their leash illegally, and well, killing somebody. Joan’s response:

The man had been a law abiding permit holder until one month ago. He was very recently law abiding until he wasn’t. So what’s your point?

At this point I’m looking for Joan to claim ALL gang members as “Law Abiding Permit Holders”, just because at some point they were young children without criminal backgrounds! Close enough, right?

I got a chuckle at this, one of Joan’s few supporters said this:

*** It is no accident that the states with the weakest gun laws are the exporters of death and injury.****

Why don’t people get this? It’s not really that complicated.

Or am I missing something?

Joan informed her she was missing nothing and that this was indeed the case….hey a lie repeated often enough! Hon what you’re missing is REALITY! But I think I noted that she’s one of Joan’s Cheerleaders. Mouth open, mind closed and empty!

When one person points out that Cherry-picking from through news does not show trends or even valid points, Joan responds with the typical anti-rights lie:

As long as permit holders are shooting people intentionally or not, we have a problem. The general population are also shooting too many people. There are no excuses for the incidents I write about. Permit holders are supposed to be more careful. That is what you all said would be the case. It’s not working out so well.

Anti-rights people work like a ratchet. They demand restrictions so long as ANY issues exist EVER, and declare a “Success” if it saves “Just one Life”.

They won’t stop until permit holders are 100% safe…but meanwhile won’t even consider defensive shootings, and when they do they demonize the people who protect innocent life.

As I said, it’s a lie. They could care less about public safety, or innocent life. What they care about is banning guns.

Period. Full Stop.

There is no compromise, there is no debate. What’s good for us, and horrible for them is there is no need FOR a debate. We will win so long as we stay the course, and no matter what they do.

Starbucks and Guns

Sebastian is pointing out the gunnies are bordering on Spamming Starbucks’ Facebook page. You can see the page here.

Ladd Everett is PISSED at this display of how popular our movement is, and is begging the usual Marxists to pile on in hopes of “Shaming” us. (Good Luck)

I actually don’t see it as spamming. People aren’t mailing pictures of their Glocks to Starbucks, they’re posting pictures of the coffee and goodies they bought at starbucks, and maybe they’re lawfully armed in their picture, or maybe they’ll toss their Glock beside the coffee and snap the picture.

I see this as no different than people taking pictures of themselves on their apple computer enjoying the coffee and the free Wi-Fi!

An Anti left this tweet that is very telling.

On Valentines Day, gunners took the historic step of promoting Starbucks the Parthenon of “Latte Liberals.” The Twitter Militia – “Winning”

Somehow lots of gunnies enjoying a coffee is now promoting “Latte Liberals”? Nope, we’re just showing that gun owners are the target market of Starbucks.

Honestly at the rate that stores are selling guns, and states are issuing carry permits, we’re damn near every market. We’re too big, and too diverse to be so pigeonholed with the anti-rights stereotypes that all gun owners are heavy-set Rural white males with ultra-conservative social values. We gots thems, but we also have women, minorities, homosexuals, Atheists, and a good deal of people who call themselves Democrats. Oh and it seems we can all agree that a cup of coffee and maybe a confection is a nice thing to enjoy.

Meanwhile those who hate guns and those who love freedom…well you’re obviously a small demographic. You’re right up there with one-legged dwarfs with polio. Starbucks would appreciate your business but they’re not going to alienate a paying customer base to please all 50 of you trolls.

Have fun!

Oh BTW has anybody noticed the lack of the term “Compromise” being tossed around these days by the antis? I think they’ve realized that the only “Compromise” they’re going to see is us carrying our guns, and them freezing in the dark…

I don’t think we can get them to agree to do that sooner…

Morning Political Discussion

I’m rolling this idea around in my head. Right now we have a damn similar version of George W. Bush circa 2004. Incompetent, unpopular, and has the entire Authoritarian Playset rolled out on his bed and he’s goin’ to town, expanding government waging wars (just Bush bragged about expanding wars, Obama brags about ending wars…while expanding them).

Now the Republicans are doing their part for the 2004 story too. They’re fielding wildly unpopular and incompetent candidates. Weather it be Romney, Gingrich, or Santorum, all of them will look like John Forbes Kerry and I suspect most voters will either vote for the Devil they Know, or simply stay home.

But with Romney as the “Front Runner” but losing as many contests as he’s winning, and his popularity in the toilet, and Santorum, who hasn’t been taken seriously ever until now as his main rival, I’m starting to smell a little of 2008 in here too.

Until Obama broke into the lead (and say what you will about him as a President, or as a person, he DID run a competent Campaign AND had the Media on his side, those are two factors wildly absent from the Republican Line-up), it isn’t unrealistic to see a Brokered Convention this year.

Now that’s what the Democrats feared in 2008, for the same reason the Republicans should fear it now. It means no clear winner, and no good options. It’ll mean lots of in-fighting, while the Media grinds the front-runners to pulp.

Now if there WERE to be a brokered convention, how much do you think this would add to a 3rd party candidate? Would a Libertarian or an Independent have a decent shot?

Also say the 3rd Party was a Small-Government Wookie-Suit-type that made a good effort to court the Tea Party people and their sympathetics. How would congress view the 3rd Party?

I’ve seen Independents first hand in State government and its a disaster, they literally are the kid with no friends, and everything they attempt to do is scuttled by both sides….but the States always have the Federal parties over them…if the President was a 3rd Party what would happen to the GOP? Would they remain solid and fight the 3rd party as if they were a re-elected Obama, or would there be a massive defection?

A third question is a historical one that maybe somebody can answer. Obviously Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican President, but what was the US House and Senate like at the time, as well as State Government. I know after he was elected and the South Defected the Whig party which was as pro-slavery as the Democrats got consumed by people switching to the then Liberal and radical Republican Party, but were there mostly Whigs and Democrats when Lincoln was elected, or were there a bunch of smaller Republican wandering around in various elected offices?

But of course back then when parties changed Ideology they changed names. Never once did the Conservative Party that Owns Black People decide to change their name when they switched to the Radical Party that loves Marks (and owns the votes of Black people by keeping them poor and dependent).

Just a bunch of ideas rattling around, what do y’all make of it?

**UPDATE** I really like a lot what’s said here, and why I’m really rooting for a Republican loss in 2012 of any kind:

“Gun Death” Canadian Gun Control

Good Job Canada, keep those “Gun Deaths” Down!

– A Canadian man suspected of stabbing two people to death and wounding three others in separate attacks remained jailed Saturday.

Now imagine this same instance if one of the victims or a bystander pulled a lawfully carried gun and shot this bastard before he could finish his assault….

That would mean more “Gun Death”, would that be bad?

Shoot First!

Great Afterburner video

I couldn’t help but think about the anti-rights lunatics harping against the Castle Doctrine in Minnesota .

Bill Points it out best, George Lucas’ sucky remake of Star Wars its unbelievable that Greedo could miss Han from across the table. He’s only in that one scene but we can tell Han respects him as a bounty hunter, and we learn from the movies that Han’s a wiley dude, so for Greedo to get the drop on him he has to be somebody.

So what George Lucas is saying is that better Han be alive from pure dumb luck, than have him be a person capable of seeing when its do-or-die, and letting Greedo do the dying. Same goes for Joan Peterson.

But of course Joan wants you to die, you don’t agree with, so if one of her criminal friends were to gun you down…well rather than your comments, your whole life becomes moderated!

Sorry Joan, but the nice thing about you becoming politically irrelevant is the good laws will get passed and we CAN shoot first, and live to see another day.

Marxist For Profit

Les sent me a pair of articles. First was this one which mostly was covered earlier here.

The recent revelation that the head of Media Matters walked the streets of Washington with a Glock-toting personal assistant acting as a bodyguard may make it a little awkward for the group the next time it seeks a donation from a gun control advocacy group.

Media Matters reportedly took more than $400,000 from the Joyce Foundation specifically earmarked to promote a $600,000 initiative on “gun and public safety issues.” At the same time, Media Matters’ gun-guarded boss David Brock reportedly obsessed over his own security.

“It doesn’t look good,” said Fraser Seitel, president of Emerald Partners Communications and a public relations expert who authored the book “Rethinking Reputation.”….Brock reportedly told confidantes that he feared for his safety and needed hired guns to keep him safe. The District’s gun laws are among the strictest in the nation, which raises the question of whether Brock’s assistant at times was in violation of its ban on carrying a concealed weapon.

So there’s that. Then there’s this:

Media Matters for America, the liberal media watchdog — under the spotlight in a weeklong series by The Daily Caller — was instructed by a donor to scrutinize religious outlets like the Christian Broadcasting Network and its founder Pat Robertson.

In 2006, the group received a $50,000 grant that specifically instructed the group to “expand the monitoring and fact checking of religious broadcasts.” Since 2006, Media Matters has focused heavily on Robertson and other religious figures prominent in the media like Focus on the Family founder James Dobson and the late Rev. Jerry Falwell…Nonprofits like Media Matters are supposed to honor instructions that donors place on their contributions — such as the directions given by the ARCA Foundation.

DC noted that ARCA used to be headed by now-Rep. Donna Edwards, D-Md., when the group gave $400,000 in grants to organizations related to ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

I have no idea how Left Media Matters would be if they weren’t paid to do so, but as we see with other hardcore leftist ideology, most of their support are people paid to support them.

Permission Slips

Spread out the Bill of Rights and give it a read. Which one of the rights listed require a government permission slip? I’m writing this post without a 1st Amendment permit, I don’t practice a religion, and I don’t need a permission to not participate, and the times I’ve been to Churches and Temples no permits needed.

My home is not permitted as a “Civilian Residence” so soldiers know they can’t be quartered there.

I don’t need to flash my permit that says Police need probable cause, or a legal warrant to search my person or property. Nor does such a permit exist that would allow me to side-step the TSA and their sexual deviants.

I could go on and on, but I think you know what I’m barking about. There are a few places where you NEED a permit to own a gun. Massachusetts and Illinois come to mind.

The program that issues mandatory ID cards to gun owners in Illinois would be discontinued under legislation proposed by state Sen. Sam McCann, R-Carlinville.

Senate Bill 3340 would repeal the Firearms Owner’s Identification Act. McCann said the act prevents law-abiding citizens from exercising their rights under the Second Amendment.

Residents must pay a $10 processing fee when they submit their FOID card application to the Illinois State Police. A FOID card lasts for 10 years.

“It just punishes the law-abiding public,” McCann said, adding that the law doesn’t stop criminals from getting their hands on guns.

These laws are blatantly unconstitutional. This crap needs to go, as does the law I’m under here in Massachusetts. I have the right to keep and bear arms, and unless you can find cause to remove said rights from me using due process, you have no say, nor are you due a cent of my money!

And from the antis:

Malte said criminals do buy guns from licensed owners and at gun shows, and the background checks that state and federal law require prevent them from doing so.

“The FOID card is a good way to weed out dangerous people, but more needs to be done,” Malte said.

“We need to go forward, not backwards.”

Yeah, that’s why Chicago is such a safe city! Antis aren’t normal, and don’t look for results, don’t mind us normal people who actually would care to be safer AND more free.

So good luck people, and if you live in Illinois call your representatives!
