Return of the Fudds

Read about this video and it makes me sick:

I don’t know if I can fully label this as “Fudd” support but it smacks of the same idiocy, that was the hunters (Elmer Fudd) rallying against the “Assault Weapons Ban” of 1994 because they didn’t use AR-15s for hunting deer or ducks. (Tho the AR-15 is now one of the most popular hunting rifles in the nation now) I thought this foolish mindset was dead after the AWB because the hunters realized that the people who want “Reasonable Gun Control” are neither reasonable, nor are they willing to let hunters keep their guns.

First up the running talking point is “I own guns, and I think one-gun-a-month is not an unreasonable restriction”.

I’ll first up say I also own guns, and I have never bought 12 guns inside of a year. I HAVE on the other hand bought several guns inside of a month. As a collector I don’t get to choose when a deal presents itself to me, same goes as a shooter looking for defensive guns on a budget. My preferred carry gun is a S&W1911Sc commander. Brand new the gun runs about $900-$1,000 new…used guns of this model are rare as the people who buy them tend to hold onto them, but I see used guns on rare occasions for $700-$800. First up that’s no discount to sneeze at, and given that I can’t just go into a store and find one for that price any day, one must jump when the deal presents itself. Even more, for mine I paid much less, most likely for some cosmetic problems that I easily fixed or didn’t care about. I doubt I will EVER see a deal like that again. Hell if I had waited another dayJay G. had told me he would have bought it. I didn’t know he was even looking at it until I brought it home and told him about it. If I had already bought a gun I’d have to wait and likely miss out on a deal, or cave and spend large amounts of money on a new gun, or let a rare collectible go on to another home to appreciate in value, or heaven-forbid, be neglected…

The “pay off” for this stupid law is, according to the video:
-Shrink Supply of guns to criminals: (No it won’t, as most people don’t buy more than 12 guns a year anyway, nor will this bill remove guns from the wild)
-Help Police Track Crime Guns: (We have a 100% registration law in effect here. Every gun bought and sold, at any volume and for any reason must be registered with the state by law. Long Guns, Handguns, “assault weapons”, everything. I have NEVER read of a report of this data being used to solve a crime, or to “track a crime gun”. I doubt anybody can show me such a story, as this is a universal lie to registrations.)
-Punish Gun Traffickers: (Well the law WILL label innocent people doing normal behavior as “Gun Traffickers” and punish THEM. As for people running criminal enterprises of selling guns to unlawful people, this bill does not address that)

Overall I will note that there are only two people (who may or may-not be actors) in the video. Their talking points are pure rhetoric (A gun can take a life so easily there should be reasonable restrictions…..well why haven’t you killed anybody if its so easy? Also did you not get your Mass LTC that would allow you to buy guns? To Get that didn’t you take a training course? also didn’t you pay $100 for the permit, plus whatever price for the class to make sure poor people can’t join your ranks? Didn’t you undergo a background check and register your guns with the state? Are you a fucking idiot???)

This law will do NOTHING to take guns out of the hands of criminals (Hell DC and Chicago had “No-Gun-a-Month” laws for GENERATIONS, and it didn’t help them one whit!) but it will restrict rights of lawful people for no gain. If there’s no gain, and the proponents feel the need to lie about it, who’s to say they’ll be satisfied when this lie plays out as such?

The failure of gun control is ALWAYS more gun control. Please Take Action NOW!

This type of crap makes my blood boil!!

The anti memes are out in full “the gun is such a dangerous weapon, it can take a life so easily”.

Lady — show me one gun that just jumped up and took a life on it’s own….Just one!
The gun requires a functioning human being to use it.

To the dude — if you support one gun a month — great!! More power to you — DON’T buy more then one gun a month but to say that I can’t buy more then one a month is infringing on my right.

My wife and daughter aren’t knowledgeable about purchasing firearms. They know how to use them and if they ever get firearms they’ll know how to maintain, clean, clear jams, etc but right know they don’t know prices, what to get with them. So If I wanted to buy both of them matching guns for Christmas — this guy says I shouldn’t be able to do it.

If I wanted to get matching firearms –especially with sequential serial numbers — for my Son — the Marine – I couldn’t do it per that law.

“Reasonable limitations placed on them” — like “You shouldn’t kill people by using a firearm?” or “Hey, It’s illegal to rob someone by using a firearm” — those reasonable limitations?

The lady says something like “I’ve worked with people who have had to bury their children, I see the value of human life”.

For the record you sniveling TWIT — I also see the value of human life — I see the value of my wife, my daughter, my sons. I see that their lives are just as valuable as the gang bangers, drug users/sellers and thugs that are the ones usually being buried.

To the frakkin fudd saying “if it keeps one gun” — banning and collecting all guns will keep one gun out of the hands of the criminals — do you support that also????

Thanks Weer’d — like I really needed something to get my blood pressure up this morning. I think I’m going to hit my post again and listen to Incognito.

I forgot about sequential serial numbers. It would technically be a crime to buy or sell matched-pairs of firearms which is a fairly common collector’s thing. Stuff like a .44-40 Lever gun, with .44-40 SAA with matched numbers. Pairs of Double guns or shotguns with sequential numbers. Just choosing to buy multiple firearms from a “Collector’s Line” like the Heller Commemorative revolver, or all those gold inlaid 1911s. They’re as good an investment as anything else, why not put your money in tangible goods?

Yep, its lies and deceit thinly veiled.

I’ve worked with people that have had to take lives WITH GUNS and my dad’s a retired both civil and military pathologist…So what’s the point in knowing somebody that had to “bury their children?” I do NOT see the relevance. I know what it looks like after a person fires a 12 gauge deer slug in their mouth, when they’ve been shot in the chest with a M9, and I also know what it looks like when somebody had been carved up with a kitchen knife. I could put up pics on my web page for these morons? They all look like dead bodies to me. I know people that had to bury their children because of disease and non-firearms related accidents.

The only way you can create a world where people don’t have to occasionally “bury their children” is to OUTLAW CHILDREN and KILL ALL HUMANS! If all humans were dead they’d be very safe from potentially being killed or dying.

  2. Thomas says:

I think criminals that aren’t in prison and don’t have an outstanding warrant should be allowed to buy guns, it’s not illegal for them to buy cars that they might use as get-away cars or for drive-bys and more people are killed by cars than guns any given year anyway. It’s not illegal for a paroled axe-murderer to buy an axe ๐Ÿ™‚ THINK ABOUT IT. The genie’s out of the bottle anyway and it would make them less likely to steal mine. Back to the “if you aren’t to be trusted to live in a free society where firearms exist, why are you free?” Doesn’t make a fooking bit of sense to me. It’s like most all the law abiding gun owners in RSA turning in their Firearms and FACs when the laws changed and are basically reduced to black powder when you can buy R-rifles, AKs, all sorts of pistols, and RPGs cheap all day long if you don’t care about the laws and the people in the townships mostly like to hack each other to death with machetes and panga anyway, don’t make no sense.

Regulating tools is not the proper response to bad behavior…

FWIW, I passed 12 for the year in February ๐Ÿ™‚ Advantage of being unmarried with no kids…

  3. Wally says:

“A gun is such a dangerous weapon” – moreso if you choose to shoot at the range without eye protection, as the gal was doing in the video.

Hey one gun a month, ten round mags – so you would never need more than 120 rounds a year, correct ?

  4. Wally says:

Well, after exhausting your yearly allotment of ammo, it gives you plenty of time for other things. Like consider relocating to free state, USA ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Dev says:

This kind of argument in the video is ridiculous. Just replace “gun” with anything else that could potentially be used illegally and take a life.

Let’s just saw 2liter soda bottles. OK, I have heard that people make meth in them. Everyone is limited to 1 soda bottle a month. I don’t drink much soda, so this doesn’t hurt me none! LOL

    • Dixie says:

But then you try to buy enough cough syrup to relieve your pain, and you get arrested by the DEA. Or you try to buy strike-anywhere matches.
