This is a local news story, frankly this bullshit outrages me.
Officials advised joggers, pedestrians and cyclers to stay in groups, especially after dark.
Somebody was attacked in a public park, and now the grand protectors are asking everybody not to go into the public space without an escort. Also there’s a big question if this is a repeat offender as his physical description and MO are similar to two other sexual assaults in the area.
So the cops are admitting that you can’t depend on them for protection, as they have no suspects, and they believe this may be part of a longer-running cold case. Instead they want you to protect yourself.
But this is Boston, so they ask people to travel and groups, and avoid public spaces after dark.
BULLSHIT, not only should you be able to enjoy public spaces any time you wish, also not everybody out there after dark is there for pleasure. People might be walking home from work, or walking to visit with friends or family, these are not things that can always be done with an escort.
Instead go armed. Get a gun if you can as they’re the greatest force multiplier you can get…if you can’t get a gun get something like a defensive knife, my personal preference is the Ka-Bar TDI, of course being Boston they make it VERY difficult for innocent people to defend themselves.
This is the world Gun Control Advocates want us to live in, in such fear that we don’t do what we want to do, or only operate in groups.
If you follow their advice to its logical conclusion, your group should include at least one slower, more attractive person that you’re not too attached to.
When I was a young Lad I went fishing with my Father and Grandmother out in the sticks of Northern Maine. We had to walk down a long dirt road that was mostly impassible by vehicle, and at one point a bear cup ran across the road. Shortly there-after we could hear the sow grunting in the woods. I asked my dad what we’d do if the bear came out of the woods.
Dad said, I’m gonna run. I’m much faster than both of you.

Sounds like the same story my uncle gave me for why you keep a dive knife and picking a dive buddy.
You always pick a dive buddy who is a slower swimmer than you. And if you are in a situation where a shark it attacking using the knife on the shark is futile. Cut you buddy and get out.
Note to self: I still don’t want to be his dive buddy.

Remind me at the NRA Con to tell you what I had to go through when I was stationed in Boston in the late ’70s concerning Knife CCW in Boston. Sad that you haven’t been able to flush out those Political Despots whose policies keep you all endangered.
