Come ON Antis!

Man its been AGES since I read a decent anti-gun article to dissect. Seems most antis are just quoting old tired stories…and sometimes quoting old tired stories quoting older more tired stories. And it seems that EVERYBODY has doubled down on comment moderation, so you don’t even get to see them spin the issue like crazy.

Miguel has seen the same.

BOR-ING! Seriously guys, step it up, or leave the battlefield!

Oh and on a similar note, Sebastian is talking about a recent article by Clayton Cramer on the bogus numbers of the VPC “Concealed carry Killers” body count.

Go read the whole thing, but this quote from Dr. Cramer himself in the comments is the best.

Quite a number where no trial yet (years later), and even one where no one was even charged.

Yep a bunch of those “Concealed carry Killers” may not have even killed anybody…or done so legally.

Sebastian closes with this:

The same old tricks. You have go wonder how far the anti-gun movement could have gotten if they had been honest, instead tricking the American people into gun control through deception and subterfuge. What’s even more amazing to me, faced with the utter failure of their movement, like a one-trick pony, they keep doing the same thing.

I’d point out that they wouldn’t have even gotten as far as they did. You see lawful people owning and carrying guns PREVENT crime, or at worst cause no added danger to public safety, and its ALWAYS been that way. Sorry there is NO honest ground to support gun control. I should know, I used to be anti-gun. Don’t you think I would have picked something more moderate than the 180 degree shift I did if I had the option?

    Weer’d,

They are keeping true to their propaganda. First the Big Lie, then repetition to make sure they get the message out.

As to the battle field, the grass is green and very vacant.. They came to the battle
not even armed with their wit.

    Eck!

Mikeb302000 told me to f— off when I spoke with him about his change in moderation policy. Since then, on the rare occasions that I’ve dropped by there to see what’s going on, I see that basically he and his fellow bloggers are the only ones talking. I will be curious to see if he posts his monthly visit totals any more.

    • Weerd Beard says:

His readership hasn’t really changed in years….page views suffer when the comment section is sterilized. Meh, I go through phases of reading his blog, and then not. When he purged his co-bloggers and opened his comment section I was amused…now that comments are closed and co-bloggers are back, BOR-ING

    • RuffRidr says:

Greg, MikeB302000 is an attention whore. I doubt he’ll be pleased to see that comments and page views have dropped significantly during his absence. Sooner or later he’ll relax his policies again. That’s when you’ll have your chance to serve his f- u right back to him.

      • Weerd Beard says:

Or not notice because his blog is a big waste of time!

      • Greg Camp says:

Nope, I’m done with him. I was willing to give him a chance, but he became increasingly nasty and finally as much as told me that my comments wouldn’t be accepted. But it’s no big deal. He’s shown what kind of a person he is, and I have better things to do.

Even Joan’s has turned into a boring place. Its not that she’s changed. It’s that she hasn’t. Sad, really. I would love to see her stats. Without the gunnies there to refute her, its the same few anti’s, cheering her on. Boring. Its not worth the effort to point out where she’s being an idiot.

    • Weerd Beard says:

Well she HAS changed in her writing style. Used to be most of her posts were all original commentary citing Joyce studies for “Support”, now about 50-60 percent of her posts are quotes for articles or other blogs with short thoughtless commentary.

And of course her comment section is a wasteland.

  4. Tom says:

Is it me, or does it seem that there are only about 10 antis on the web? Not counting the corporate VPC, et al, you have Joan, Mikeb and his co bloggers, the guy in Oregon, and a couple others on Joan’s blog list. It just seems that all their content is recycled and their outrage is interesting only for so long.

  5. TS says:

In Japete’s latest screed she is going off on how she just purchased minor fireworks called “pop-its” and went through tighter laws than she would buying a gun. She had to show an ID, and…AND… they even scanned it! Wow, if only the NRA would allow guns to be regulated like fireworks. She won’t post this on her site, so I’ll yell at her here:

Ok, Japete, you bought fireworks from a licensed dealer. I am sure that scan wasn’t a background check, but let’s go beyond that. How are the laws stopping you from selling those pops to your neighbor, or some dude from Wisconsin, or handing them to your nephew to set off at your 4th of July party? Is it a federal felony if you sell them on the street? And how do we prevent you from doing that even if it is illegal. After all, I am all about prevention. And you said you would be careful with them, but how do I know? How do I know that you are not going to blow that off in my eye?

    • Greg Camp says:

TS, good to see you again. You forgot to ask where the common sense is. She always adds that to the end of a post, kind of like that last dry heave after you’ve puked up everything you’ve eaten for a couple of days.

      • TS says:

Ah, a glaring oversight. “where’s the common sense?”

It is good to see you too. I’d say you’ve been missed over at Mike’s but I haven’t been going there much either. I am not taking any principled stands or anything, but rather I am just not too interested in reading what Laci has to say.

    • Weerd Beard says:

If you’re not familiar with them here’s the wiki article They just legalized their sale in Maine and a buddy of mine brought a box of them to the con and we were playing with them. We were speculating what the active ingredient was. I assumed it was some sort of fulminate. I was right!

Joan is so crazy that she makes perfect sense inside her head. None of the antis ever want to talk to me about the wonderful gun Utopia of Massachusetts. Shall issue permits for ownership, mandatory registration, and no private sales…yet Joan wouldn’t take up a dare to go show her white face in Jamaica Plane or Mattapan after dark.

Its bullshit, and Joan knows it.
