Barry O and his Over-Under

Deadly weapon of war in the hands of the President.

Just ask Biden!

BTW what is Barry shooting at? Maybe he’s snagging a bird late out of the low-house, but generally when I’m busting clays my barrel is a little more inclined.

I must say, he does have a good cheek weld on that gun!

**UPDATE** I only skimmed the article, but I just read this passage:

“The president is holding the shotgun as one would hold and aim a rifle,” said John H. Josselyn, legislative vice president for the Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore Inc. “If the President were actually shooting on a skeet or trap range, he would have been wearing a belt with a shell bag or a shooting vest. This is a poorly staged publicity photo intended to deceive the public by portraying the president as something he is not.

Good point! My first time shooting sporting clays I was stuffing shells in my pockets to reload between stations. I was quickly stopped and given somebody’s shell holder so I could carry around my cartridge box on the shooting stations.

He’s certainly not kitted out for a round of skeet, especially if there’s a skeet range or a trap field in camp David, they’d have all the kit you’d need for a fun round of shooting. This could simply be a presser like Kerry’s alleged “Goose Hunt” to somehow align the president with hunters. Very well the gun was loaded for the President, after he was shown how to shoulder it, and the shot was taken to get the precise moment the muzzle was flashing like it did.

My guess is he’s either shooting trap from an elevated position, or he just let the clay get far enough out that it’s dropping.

I suck at sporting clays, so yeah I’ve actually shot DOWN from an elevated position to break the clay before it hit the ground.

And I suspect I’ve broken more clays and burned more shot shells than the President, so his skill is likely vastly worse than mine!

You don’t shoot skeet with a rifle. The reporter that wrote this knows bupkiss.

I’m amused that the media’s trying to make a “Skeeter” movement on line with the Birthers et al.

Because people being skeptical of the president acutally using a shotgun are the same as those that think he’s a secret Lizard-man.

One shot photo op… just sayin…

If I held that double like that and fired I’d have one hell of a shoulder bruise. The toe of the butt is too high. Likely as its not his gun and the stock is all wrong for him. Its too low in the comb to shoulder it right. Shoot a round of skeet that way and your shoulder is red beef and sore especially without a padded vest and all.

That as a photo shoot at best and likely he hasn’t shot for a long while.

My experience is many years of sporting clays, skeet and hunting birds.
That and practice for any event or hunting was three boxes or more of
cheap low brass #6 or 8 or skeet reloads at a time.

    I be skeptical.

Oh yeah, my shoulder has a rosy hue after a round of sporting clays, even with the wimpy steel skeet loads my club sells.

Still, as I said, if Presidents and dignitaries frequently shoot skeet (or at least trap…I suspect Obama doesn’t even know the difference between the two games) I suspect they’d have an array of the best shooting kit there. But no vest, no shell holder/ hull bag, I doubt he fired the gun more than twice.

The stock being “all wrong for him” saves lives. Heaven forbid it be adjustable or something.

The DATE the picture was taken would be interesting. After his comment re: “skeet shooting” a lot of skeptics questioned whether or not he had actually shot skeet or was giving us a line of BS.
    Now we know.

If you’re shooting clay targets that are sitting on fence posts then you would be holding the gun horizontally. I do find it amusing that Browning reached out to Emily Miller to confirm it was one of their guns: http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/guns/2013/feb/2/miller-obamas-browning-shotgun/
