Hmm. They chose to use Andy Rooney as a representation of misplaced priorities. The same Andy Rooney who made a career with his grumpy rants complaining about cotton stuffed inside pill containers, and how baseball players spit too much. Odd choice.
You know what else really grinds my gears (I’m using my best Andy Rooney voice here)? They ask why is 30,000 gun deaths “business as usual”? Because it is business as usual. That has been the total every year. But last year we hade zero cases of Ebola in the US. So it is pretty understandable that going from zero to five makes for big news. Same reason why the 600,000 deaths per year from heart disease is “business as usual”.
