Anti-Gun Irony

MadRocketScientist linked This Cartoon

over at Joe’s Place

Of course compare that cartoon with this entry and suddenly the Irony goes up to Eleven.

Whether they mean it or not, gun control laws get good people killed, and aid criminals to continue their violent ways

Hmn. Under today’s law, an 18yo can buy a rocket launcher. I’m not sure what is funny about this cartoon.

OYAH – NRA supporting NFA. That isn’t going to happen.

    • Weerd Beard says:

Sure it will…after another pro-gun-group pushes forward a court case overturning the NFA for the junk it is, the NRA will pretend they always were for NFA rights!

    • Richard says:

Look at it from the safe American way of life &freedom!!! To protect one’s family!!! If it works well with the hand gun,rifle,M16′ hand grenades, you will be the neibourhoods safest house!!! PS; pittbulls are very dangerous, so ban them!!
And smoking pot!! Very very bad for your health, very bad

  2. Wally says:

    You are correct sir.

The NRA cartoon really shouldn’t be a kid and rocket launcher, it should be a guy with a taurus… NRA is little more than a marketing arm of the manufacturers.

    Regardless, rocket launchers are cool.

    • Weerd Beard says:

heh, yeah they sure do pedal a SHITLOAD of Tauruses, as well as Kimbers. Kimbers are decent guns from all I can see…still they’re a little too friendly with the CA Law Enforcement for my likes.

In their Defense, the NRA is also a great group for informing the electorate about gun issues, and laws coming up the pike, as well as one of the best sources for safety training, and new shooter programs.

      • Wally says:

Yeah, they do plenty for new shooters. They are a bit selective on getting word out on new legislation (from their recent debaucle with congress, or Kagan’s hearings). They were asleep at the switch in Maine and we received a nice sharp stick in the eye with yet another gun law going into effect in a few weeks.

But what does NRA do for safety for new RPG shooters ? Nothing!! They have been working to keep rule #5 under wraps. Rule #5a : backblast will really ruin someone elses’s day. Rule 5b : backblast indoors will ruin your day.

      • Thomas says:

Kimber had some quality control issues at times that they seem to have fixed, but for my money, Dan Wesson 1911s are a better bargain for an out of the box high-endy 1911. I’ve got a Kimber for carry because I didn’t pay much for it so if it ended up in an evidence locker I wouldn’t care much. The Dan Wesson based custom is the one everybody tries to buy from me as far as stock-ish 1911s I own.

  3. Thomas says:

I’d rather have a Ma Deuce. Rocket launchers and tanks are expensive to feed. One of my contacts for “odd” surplus parts in Georgia has a “Dealer Sample” Javelin and actually shooting it at anything would break most people’s banks. A local in my AO is selling his 7.62 mini-gun for the same reason. Costs too much to feed and it’s not any fun if you can’t shoot it to own one.

    • Weerd Beard says:

Honestly I just want a Can for every gun I’m willing to put threads/flash hider on the barrel. And an M3 SMG would amuse the HELL out of me!

    • Wally says:

      Thomas,
any chance you could pass along contact info for your ‘odd’ surpluss dealer? I have been searching for 57mm recoilless cases, ~12″ long, swiss cheese looking shells.

  4. Irony is just lost on some crowds.
