Face of Gun Control: Background Checks

Seems every anti-right bigot out there keeps talking about the “Gunshow Loophole” which is essentially outlawing private sales, making all transfers through FFLs. Its a bogus law that we could talk about elsewhere (Lets just say we don’t have a “Gunshow Loophole” here in Mass, as all sales are required to go through the state…and our crooks have lots of guns!) but lets look at This

Gov. Deval Patrick’s public safety administration has sat for a year on a request by federal immigration authorities to sign up for a controversial new program aimed at finding and deporting immigrants with serious criminal backgrounds, preventing local police outside of Boston from taking part in it, a FOX Undercover investigation has found.

The U.S. Bureau of Customs and Immigration asked state officials in September 2009 to sign a memorandum of agreement they say is needed to activate the program, known as Secure Communities, across Massachusetts. But that agreement remains unsigned, meaning no police department in Massachusetts except Boston can access the program, federal officials say. Boston police joined the program as part of a pilot initiative.

So let’s get this straight, the Antis want me to undergo a background check if I want to give my wife a gun as a gift, or buy a friend’s unused gun so he can get some quick cash. But if a gang member is caught in Boston, our anti-gun governor wants to do whatever he can to keep said criminal in the country???

International gangs like MS13 have chapters here in Mass. They’re brutal killers as well as engaging in all the cultural niceties that street gangs do. Also a majority of their members are in the nation illegally under assumed names. When somebody under an assumed name bails out of Jail, how do you think the cops catch them?

If they take on a new identity after the old one is compromised, they don’t. Oh and their trademark weapon is a Machete! So Gun control good, Criminal Alien control, BAD.

This is the face of gun control, and why we can’t give the swine that push it quarter!

Also carry your gun people, this is not a safe world we live in, and the “Progressives” aim to make it MUCH more dangerous!

I finally got the stupid permit, but since I spend most of my time at school (prohibited area, yada yada) no carrying for me.

If those in power would just realize that criminals break the law no matter what the law is, and law abiding people don’t, what would the world look like?

Let me get this right….Arizona is being <sued by the Federal Government for performing what is basically a background check IF a person is stopped for a crime and IF there is reasonable suspicion the person is an illegal alien.

Yet, If I, an Air Force Veteran, Tax Paying, Licensed to carry concealed person wants to give my Marine Lance Corporal Son a firearm for his 21st Birthday — We should have to go through a background check in order to do that?

    Is that common sense?

background checks kill me. What the antis desire is basically a system that mimcs NFA – no transfers (including borrowing or loaning) without a big long drawn out approval process.

I should be able to give my legally owned property to another person who may legally own said property face to face.

And ironically, I have never ever bought a gun face to face.

Really? Man its a nice way to find some diamond-in-the-rough guns and save some money on top of things. Also good way for the seller to make more money, and faster than dropping it off at ye-old gun shoppe or put up on gunbroker.

I remember I was shooting with a buddy and I mentioned I was looking at grabbing an SKS on my FFL. He said “You know I have an SKS I bought a long while back just sitting in my safe…”

He bought it packed in grease, and just couldn’t be bothered to clean the cosmo out of the gun to shoot it. I probably paid him a bit more than he bought it for, I got it for a good bit less than it would have cost to grab one from a distributor on my FFL. Also he walked away from the sale with a wallet filled with $20s, and I walked away with a rifle. Win win win win win!

Of course the sale was reported and recorded with the state and the paperwork mailed to the offensively named “Criminal Records Bureau” Guess you can’t win them all.

At least the registration I submitted to has prevented no crimes!

Is it me or do people up here think old guns are made of gold ? I have been doing much better on gunbroker than I could dream about with uncle handjobs.

Any of my diamond finds all came with tax stamps, and i’m not thrilled about giving a stack of money to sumdood and not being able to take the item for 3+ months.
