Wow I’m RESTED!!! The Mrs. is COMFORTABLE!!! THINGS ARE WORKING!!! FUCK YEAH!
So yesterday my Mom was over (Hi Mom, I know you’re reading this!) and using her RN Powah she decided to have me call the doctor about the Mrs. being so nauseous. Got ahold of the Doc pretty darn quickly and Mom, the Doctor, and I all conferenced and decided to change her Tylenol dose and dump the dilodid to see if the opiates are making her sick.
So far its a VERY good call. Pain has been manageable, tho the Dilodid DID appear to do a much better job for pain…but puking kinda sucks when you have wounds on your brain, skull, jaw muscle, and face.
Also with this new regime it just meant a later bedtime for me, and two wake-up calls during the night, subtract from those wake-up calls scrambling for a puke bucket and the Mrs. looking like the ass-end of hell….that’s a good night!
Be interesting to see how today shapes up.

Glad there’s been some improvement! I’ve been praying for you and your wife.
Glad to hear there is continued improvement. I know that sometimes it doesn’t appear to be much progress but realize how far she’s came since the operation.
Keeping up the thoughts and prayers for you and your Missus
Awesome :). Your girl bounces back fast for just having a chunk of her brain removed!
Glad to hear she’s doing better!
But, they prescribed dilaudid without phenergan? WTF?
This. It’s common practice to prescribe phenegren along with opioids. I’m surprised they didn’t.
she did come home with an anti-nausia. (Sorry I can’t remember the drug name, I’m half-asleep, and have a mind filled with pharma alphabet soup) it worked REALLY well as an injectable in the hospital, but not so hot in pill form it appears.
Still with the Dilodid phased out, and the pain on the wane, we’re in little need of it.
Dude, we should get Mrs. Weerd’s med schedule and Baby Vector’s feeding schedule in sync… then we can call each other and ask who got more puke on them at 3am… Hahaha. Glad to hear the med switch is a good thing. Your Mom RULES!
On the nausea side – the phenergan was the only thing that took the edge of when I was pregnant. Zofran, antihistamines, etc… nothing else came close to working. So if they suggest it, go get it!!
If things continue I think you’ll be the winners of the puke contest. 24+ hours puke-free Bay-beeee!
The bigger question is: do you have to change your shirt after she does it? I went through three shirts on Friday. 🙂
Nope, but I did have to change the sheets and the mattress pad once when the projectiles had a wider trajectory than the bucket….
Thank goodness that shit appears to be behind us!
Yay! That’s fantastic news. 🙂
Ativan.
Worked best for nausea when my Darlink was undergoing chemo.
Zofran not so much.
Phenegren is okay. Can make some act a bit strange…
But we be praying all continues to improve!!
No shit, we have a script for Adivan, its prescribed if the Mrs. has what appears to be chains of seizures to stop the activity. Still we’ve used it a few times for anxiety (specifically the morning before the surgery) May see if she’s interested in giving it a try. That being said the nausea is really only a problem for the last hour before the pain pills can be administered.
Hopefully the pain will noticeably drop in the next few days.
I’m glad to hear that she’s doing better. This is encouraging news, although her recovery will take some time. Please send my best wishes to her.
This is good news to hear, Weer’d.
