Wow, This Doesn’t Smell Right

Have a Watch of this video.

First up in defense of the Police, I don’t think its fair for anybody to have the direct confrontation with the grieving family and the police. Also if the police believe they are encountering an immediate threat with a man with a gun they shouldn’t be thinking about shouting commander, using less-lethal weapons, and in this case if long arms like the shotgun used are available they are some of the best tools to keep officers safe.

Now all that being said, the man was observed for some time openly holding a HOSE NOZZLE. Now if the story had been that some dork mistook a hose nozzle for a firearm and called the police, and when the police arrived he had it concealed someplace and the first glimpse they got of it was at the moment of confrontation I can give more leeway. There are lots of stories of people being shot by police because when they confronted a suspect the suspect started pulling random sundry items from their pockets that the cops in the heat of the moment and fractions of seconds mistook it for a gun. Even THOSE cases are often controversial.

That being said this WASN’T the case, he was holding a hose nozzle, which while it does have a pistol grip looks no more like a firearm than a hair drier of a caulking gun.

More disturbing is the mention of “Making sounds consistent with a handgun”. Now I have used hose nozzles similar to this, the only noises they make when they are spraying water is the locking device that holds the grip depressed. For somebody who has poor eyesight and only a basic understanding of guns this could ONLY be confused with DRY FIRING “Click”.

So the cops are observing the suspect and he’s “pulling the trigger” and no rounds are being discharged. Furthermore they call in everybody but the damn national guard to “Contain” this man who at worst is holding an UNLOADED “gun”.

I’m sorry, but this story totally stinks. There’s also a mention from the family (who again is distraught which should be noted) that the deceased was still in the sitting position when he was shot. What comes to mind is did he place his hands on the armrests of the chair, with the nozzle in hand, to get himself up to meet with the officers?

I hope the facts come to light and justice is served, because this does not sound like a good shooting to me.
