A Good Product

I just babbled a bit in my last post about M-Pro7. Just thought I’d babble a bit more. Not only is it awesome for cleaning corrosive ammo residue, but its good at cleaning up guns. The best thing I like about it is it doesn’t have any harsh odors or fumes. I love the Smell of Hoppe’s #9, but I don’t think I want my basement full of the fumes, and I’m not cracking a window, or cleaning in my garage in the dead of winter, thanks!

Also for products, I must speak highly of the Bore Gel by them as well. I don’t use it every time I clean, but man that stuff can make a filthy gun look brand new!

I’d say I’d put about 500 rounds of various .22 LR, some plated, others lead thought the gun since I last cleaned it. By the end the rounds were starting to go into the chambers tight and sticky extraction, and the flutes in the cylinder were all sorts of funky colors.

Enter the bore gel, and a few mins to allow it to marinate and the bore is shining like Chrome, the chambers don’t even have a fouling mark, and the forcing cone is all bright stainless.

Nice stuff! I highly recommend them! Also if the makers would like to send me some product I’ll jump up and down. Did you know they sell the regular cleaner in gallon jugs???

I find I have to use gloves when I use that stuff on more than one gun.

I cleaned three or four at once, and ended up with skin peeling off my fingers afterward. Talk about majorly nasty finger cracks too. Maybe it’s just due to the dry climate, but I had to lotion the crap out of myself.

In that stuff’s defense, it does clean pretty well.

That’s odd, I’ve spent hours cleaning guns and my hands get totally slick with the stuff. Obviously it does give you essentially dish-pan-hands as it washes off the oils on your skin as well as the guns, but no severely adverse effects. Could be you have sensitive skin, or maybe an allergy issue?

I didn’t have that issue with the old standard, Hoppes or using any of the other lubes after cleaning. Or the other crap I deal with at work, granted I do usually have gloves on.

No rash either- it just made my skin super dry and peel off. I don’t really think it was a reaction since regular lotion took care of it in a week or so. Plus it was even before I was on all sorts of pills and stuff, so it wasn’t a drug reaction.

I was pretty puzzled- it wasn’t like I was using break clean or something. I just default to gloves now, even if they do make my hands smell nasty.
