A Long-Standing Tradition

Now if somebody said that they had heard that my long-time mistress was about to come forward to expose my marital infidelity, I’d laugh right in their face. Same with if somebody was to discuss my rampant Cocaine use. Har har. Why am I laughing? Because such things are the FURTHEST from the truth, so such accusations are a joke or the words of an idiot. Keep that in mind.

Massachusetts House Speaker Robert DeLeo will be holding a special session on Beacon Hill Tuesday to reportedly try to fire his majority whip….Sources say DeLeo is upset with comments the Burlington Democrat has been making about succeeding him when results of an alleged federal investigation are revealed.

Now first let’s note Mr. DeLeo’s current position has now been vacated by its last three occupants when they were found guilty of a Federal Felony. First it was Charles Flaherty then Tom Finneran and not Sal DiMasi (who just recently reported to Federal Prison to begin his seven year sentence)

Also its interesting to note that Massachusetts is on the verge of making Casio Gambling legal (for those curious I’m 100% in favor of legalized gambling, tho I hate the way our country does it by essentially prohibiting it except in very unique and isolated locations…also I think that the State of Massachusetts could fuck-up a steel ball, and this will likely end up being a disaster of graft, corruption, nepotism, and a net-loss for tax payers) which tends to be a hive of corruption, and still holds ties to organized crime.

I suspect his reaction holds a grain of truth.

Gambling’s not illegal in the whole country. In MT it’s hard to find a restaurant or gas station without a couple Keno machines or something like that in it. Not sure where the line is in the law between the Feds and the states though.

It’s really more of a blanket statement. Some gambling is legal (most places have a lottery, or Keno, or Scratchers) Other forms of gambling are legal only in certain places (Like you can play poker or bet on sports games in Las Vegas or Atlantic City, but do it in your living room and you’re a common criminal) and a myriad of in-between places.

It just strikes me as dumb.
