OK this is a really neat video about turning a birdshot load into what is essentially a frangible bullet.
neat little concept from back in the day that might come in handy in real life. Certainly I can see this as a way to convert trap and field loads into something that would be more effective against people or medium game. Of course I wonder if these things would work in a repeating shotgun, or if the handling by the action might cause the shells to warp significantly.
Will work well in your tactical coach gun!
VERY COOL, I think I might try this eventually.
That seems to work well in a double-barrel type, but I don’t know how well the shells would hold up in a pump-action or auto-loading shotgun; it would seem they might jam up.
Aw shit, did you actually have to link to that a-hole’s page to show iraqveteran8888’s youtube “lost arts” video? He has a couple ton more where that came from, including “lost arts” II and III.
Heck, you could have even linked to my blog post of a few weeks ago, where I expand on the content and also post several links.
Also, Dutchman6 followed my lead and even has one of the same forum links I dug up.
(three useful links, I hope that does not condemn this post to the spam bucket)

My grandfather showed me this trick over 50 years ago. He said everyone used to do this for deer hunting is they didn’t have a deer rifle or ammunition. It works.
He had a double barrel shotgun. I don’t believe it worked in pumps or automatics.
