Driving Mr. Weer’d

Didn’t stop by the Piggly Wiggly, but I did have a chauffeur this afternoon.

Happens to be the wife has been Seizure-free for six months, this means her driver’s license is valid. Since on Friday she will likely start a medication taper, and again be advised to not operate a motor vehicle. So we had lunch up the street from our house, on the way home she asked if she could take the truck for a spin. I pulled into an abandoned parking lot and handed over the keys. She did a few laps around the lot to get the feel back, then she took us home which was about a mile.

Not a serious trek, and more of the LOLz than anything. Still she got behind the wheel of a vehicle for the first time in about 5 years, and in a standard transmission!

We’re still a long ways off before I’ll be handing her the keys so she can go run errands on her own, still it was a big an exciting step for us all!
