Saw this guy on the porch railing.
No field guides here so I have no idea what he was but doesn’t he look cool?
He was about the size of a quarter for those who might want to figure him out.
I was bored at lunch… googled “hairy orange fly”…. carry on 🙂

Well done, thanks!
The internet! She never let’s me down!
Rajah believes this can adequately be identified as Comida de Gato. His mommy begs to differ.
I suggest taking off and nuking the site from orbit. It’s the only way to make sure that thing doesn’t spread.
+1 for the Aliens Reference
Holy Crap!
It’s a mutant ninja bumble fly!
They said I was mad to cross breed the Candiru with the common house fly. Mad?! I’ll show them mad! The fools! I’ll show them ALL!!!
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!! 😀
Dunno, but I hope it’s no longer alive… hint hint…
look up “flower fly”. some of them look just like bumblebees, but they are harmless (so you can impress your friends by catching a “bumblebee” in your bare hands).
