Gun Control Paradise: How’s that working?

Headline: Costa Rica hotel guard who shot Kansas teen has been arrested

A hotel security guard has been arrested in Costa Rica in the shooting of a 16-year-old McLouth High School student, Costa Rica authorities said Friday.

Authorities said the security guard is a 36-year-old Nicaraguan man who did not have permission to carry weapons in Costa Rica.

Didn’t have permission, so he was illegally carrying a gun, yet he held a position of a hotel security guard.

Johnston and three boys went to visit friends in another room. The OIJ did not make clear the layout of the rooms, but the four boys returned to their room through some trees about 4 a.m.

The security guard shouted at them to stop, but they ran and the security guard shot at them, Solís said.

Johnston was struck in the chest and died at the scene, he said.

Now I can certainly see teens sneaking around in the dark as suspicious, but not deadly, certainly when they are unarmed and running away.

Solís said authorities are investigating the case as a “simple homicide, because when he shot, he thought that the guys were thieves,”

Get that? He thought they were “thieves” so its only a “Simple Homicide”. Here in America (where anti-rights advocates compare us to the “Wild West”) if somebody pulls a knife on you and demand a wallet and rather than responding with deadly force you hand over your wallet…THEN shoot the thief in the back as he runs, you’re going to need a VERY good lawyer to escape a murder charge.

My heart goes out to the family of Justin Johnston. This was a horrible and inexcusable tragedy, and I hope that there is some justice in this case, but I have my doubts.
