More Classy Lefties

You may remember this self-centered Lesbian who shoved her kid into Michelle Bachman’s face so he could recite Mom’s talking points. And like a Brave activist Mom beats feet before Michelle can respond to the person who ACTUALLY said the lines, not the mouthpeice.

This goes a step further.

There’s a reason why Mom-and-Dad didn’t let us play in traffic or on the train tracks…and it was NOT so we wouldn’t interrupt the supply chain of the Capitalist Bourgeois. Its because you might get killed by heavy machinery.

BTW notice Mom’s name? Lotus. Not sure if she changed her name, or was born into it. Either way any adult with such a name will see similar results.

Why not? Surely trains can stop on a dime just like the cars and trucks they block out on the highway.

We had a guy from Canadian National come down and give a presentation to our fire dept. a few years back. He said if you’ve got an accident blocking the tracks, make sure the train knows at minimum a mile away so it can stop in time.

And gun owners are the ones who shouldn’t have kids!

Rail yards in PDX use automated switch engines.

No humans involved in their operation, other than a person giving it orders in the switchyard office.

    • Weerd Beard says:

“No humans involved in their operation, other than a person giving it orders in the switchyard office.”

Well the humans in the switchyard, and the humans greasing the axles.

      • Kristopher says:

The engine mint crews are all working in the locomotive sheds. The switch engines come to them.

When the switchyard itself needs maint, they order the switch engines back to the barn.

    • GuardDuck says:

Actually remote control switch engines controlled by crew members on the ground – but only in specific remote control zones.

That particular location isn’t one. Also that particular location – if I recognized it correctly from the short clip – has a speed limit slow enough that the engineer can stop within half the range of vision of any obstruction.

So yeah, mom is an idiot because her ‘faith’ in humanity has no backing with laws of physics. And it’s only happenstance that her location chosen for her faith test wasn’t a high speed mainline.

      • Kristopher says:

Wouldn’t bee too sure of that. I had seen engines moving around under the bridges there on the east waterfront with no operators within sight.

Those signs were up for good reason.

        • GuardDuck says:

I’m a locomotive engineer in Portland – I’m sure of what I say.

Perhaps we’re talking the same thing – just saying it differently.

  3. I will say this only once:
“Faith in humanity has no bearing on the laws of physics!”

That engineer may not want to hit you, he may feel bad afterwards, but there wasn’t a damn thing he could do. There’s this thing called momentum. It’s why you respect large ships, trains, and trucks.
