Quote of the Day: Daddybear

Awesome rant, Delta Bravo!

My point is that I’m tired of hearing people whine. If I had the power, I’d take each and every one of these class-baiting twits to the real world and let them see what poverty really looks like. I’d show them people who come from huts made out of garbage who are working their tails off to get out of that hut. I’d show them women who have to carry weapons every day, not so they don’t have their purse stolen, but so that they’re not kidnapped and raped. I’d show them graveyards full of the people who tried to make things better, but were rewarded with a bullet in the head for their trouble.

Then I’d show them the poorest of the poor here in America, a place that gives away free food, shelter, clothing, education, medical help, and just about anything else a person needs in order to not only stay alive, but to thrive and become a producing member of society if they would only care enough to do it.

Go read the whole thing, its worth it.

    First World Problems.

It really is people complaining that their free jetpacks aren’t the deluxe models.
Of course when you don’t realize that things cost effort you’re going to be supremely jealous of anyone else that has something better.

It’s like this student debt nonsense. These goobers took out loans for tens and tens of thousands of dollars for… what? Here’s a hint, if a major capital cost is not going to help you financially (ex: engineering degree, a delivery truck, milling machine), then it’s a luxury bucko.

But hey, we’re already paying for fancy Finish luxury cars, why not pay for seven years of Liberal Arts Fantasy Camp too.

After 2 trips to Ethiopia this year, which involved time in both the capitol, Addis Ababa, and time out in the countryside, I’ve seen enough real poverty and real suffering to realize that I don’t have problems in my life.

I’ve also lost my tolerance for people around here (first world USA) that whine about what problems they think they have.

Seeing people literally scraping together what they can every single day just to survive and feed their families really changes your priorities.
