Upside?

Was talking with Thirdpower about the mentality of the anti-gun people. After reading this post, and mentioned that not only do antis not have gatherings because there’s rarely more than a few in each state, let alone in friendly distances, but even when they do get close together they don’t get together. I mentioned that here a good while back.

The antis really don’t much care for other people. They can stand to be in the same room with people who agree with them, and preferably kiss their ass, but overall they’re pretty anti-social lot.

If that sounds crazy to you, consider what the antis REALLY are.

Let’s jump into the world of make-believe and pretend that one of these freaks get to rub a political magic lamp and get to wish for their dream laws.

I’ll go for the most extreme ramblings from the top anti-gun jerks.

So now the United States has no more carry of arms in public, period. No more self defense laws. Shooting a rapist is the same as shooting a kid swinging on the monkey bars. Guns that are center-fire or repeating are banned. Anybody owning guns must have a permit to own guns, and to get that permit requires mental health evaluations, and is may-issue, so essentially only friends of the “Inner Party” can clear the exam.

Now picture the anti of your choice, be it President Obama, Paul Helmke, Josh Sugarmann, Joan Peterson, or MikeB302000. What do they get from this?

Possibly “Gun Death” will drop some (but everybody knows there isn’t a place on Earth with zero “Gun Death”) but if they’re LUCKY violent crime rates will stay the same, but likely they’ll get worse. The gangs of the inner city will still have their drugs and prostitution, and they’ll still be able to get guns, so their desire for violence and death will not be quenched.

People like Joan Peterson and Bryon Miller will still have dead siblings…and given that the murders won’t go away, especially from domestic disputes like Joan’s sister, or Police Officer’s like Miller’s brother.

Hell Mikeb302000, or James Kelly don’t even LIVE in America, so they won’t even be under the effect of any such laws.

Honestly besides the meaningless and smug “We won you lost!” declaration of victory, I can’t see a damn thing that might happen that would be GOOD for the antis if their wildest dreams came true.

Think about the depth of that. Most of the antis don’t even have any serious desire for their dreams to come true, its the proverbial battle they strive for. And there isn’t a single one of them that doesn’t know that the only data that make their cause look good was bought and paid for by the Joyce Foundation. Any vetted scientific data, like from the FBI or CDC shows they’re dead wrong, and they know it.

For them Gun Control was an arbitrary line in the sand. It’s the proverbial hill they have chosen to die on. They have specifically chosen by their own will to pick not only the losing side, but the WRONG side.

Now think of the mental condition somebody needs to be in to voluntarily put themselves in that position.

Pretty strange, ne?

Ah, but you’re missing the next step in the gun-grabbers’ dream: forcing us to live as their serfs. They can’t impose their ultimate goals while free citizens are able to make said imposition a dangerous proposition for those who would enforce it.

I get that its a fantasy of many of them, but do any of these soft-headed rejects think they’d ever be allowed into the inner party and given the reins of command?

They might be THAT crazy. I dunno

Ahh, but y’see, they may or may not necessarily want to control people themselves, but they definitely want people controlled, period.

“Gun control” extremists, at their core, are people who do not and cannot trust other people, and as such, firmly believe that all people should be controlled and guided by a higher authority. Never mind that the higher authority is made up of people (that they cannot trust), and never mind that they are only willing to accept control on things they do not personally care about (for instance, Second vs. First Amendment protected rights), the only driving factor is the need for control.

It would really be kind of sad if they were not so damned busy trying to destroy our lives.
