“Gun Death” Hitman Hammer!

Even Contract Killers are getting on the “Gun Death” bandwagon!

A cocktail waitress was bludgeoned to death with a hammer by a man hired by her estranged husband to make the killing look like a break-in gone wrong, prosecutors allege.

Paramedics said the hole in Shauna Tiaffay’s head was so deep they first thought she may have been shot….hey claim the Las Vegas firefighter knew what his daughter would find at her mother’s home because he had instructed a longtime friend to carry out the attack, according to a police report seen by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Detectives say Tiaffay, a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, had tried to commit suicide by driving his truck into a wall after learning he had become a prime suspect.

His friend Noel ‘Greyhound’ Stevens, 37, a vagrant who lives in campsites around the town, has been accused of committing the murder.

He was arrested after a ‘concerned citizen’ allegedly called police to say a man nicknamed Greyhound killed someone’s wife for $600 and the promise of more cash.

Even more alliteration! Hobo Hitman with a Hammer!!! But not a “Gun Death”! Now this guy probably can’t be listed as a “Professional” hitman. Still I’ve always been interested in contract killers, either organized crime, or government operatives. I’ve read more than a few books on the subject, and overall I find that firearms are rarely used by contract killers. Instead they prefer poisons or explosives, allowing more distance from the killer and the target. The sniper or the drive-by just aren’t as common because it leaves too much easily-collected evidence, and puts the killer at more risk.

All the best for the antis, as they can simply ignore it, even when the medics first thought this attack was a GSW!

What scares me about this story is that they have video of the husband and the killer buying supplies for the murder several weeks earlier. I can’t believe that the police watch weeks worth of surveillance video at every store in town, on the off chance that you will be seen in public with the killer, so that a link can be proven.
This tells me that there were two possibilities:
1 Credit card receipts, which seems unlikely, because credit card spending reports don’t usually include what was bought, but merely the amount spent.
    2 Facial recognition software.
(Unless there is something that I am missing here.)
